(God of War vs. DC Dark Multiverse)

War...War may never change in ferocity...but it can change some men, turning once former people with human hearts...into a harden and blood-covered agent of Ares, the Greek God of War...but either one can succumb to the rage of Ares, or break free of it...each at a cost for life or humanity.

Kratos, the Former Spartan-turned God of War....The Ghost of Sparta.

And The Merciless, The Former Batman turned Ares of Earth -12....Servant to Barthaos.

These two men have made encounters with Ares, yet both can't be any more than reflections of each other...so who will bring this war to it'e end?

Will Kratos succumb to his Spartan nature and bring the end to the Merciless

or will the Merciless cut down the Ghost of Sparta for the title of God of War?

(Okay you guys have to admit it, this is a far interesting idea than just regular old Batman right?)

Connections:
Both were regular men(albeit more stronger than most) who have fought supernatural/superpowered god-like beings(Greek/Norse Gods to Metahumans) And get by thanks to the various weapons/tools they have
However, During their most darkest hour, with loved ones at stake, both would made a deal/interraction with Ares, the Greek God of War for more power, which in turn lead to the lost of said loved ones and transformation of themselves(Kratos earning favor to fight off his enemies, but Ares tricked him into slaughtering his family, thus his family's and other's ashes clunged to his skin permantly, while Bruce don the helmet of Ares to defeat him, but would be slowly corrupted by that same power into killing not only his enemies, but his friends and lover in that universe, Diana)
Both had their original worlds destroyed due to the chaos they bring and would grow beards, signifying a chance in them(Kratos bringing ruin to Greece, but he would mellowed out in GOW 4 as a father figure to Aterus, while The Merciless had his universe destroyed by the Dark Multiverse's law and would grow a white beard and lost one eye during the journey).

Two moments I can see here would be Kratos using his sword of Olympus or more recently, his Levianthan Axe, clashing with the Godkiller sword of the Merciless, and Kratos, surrounded by the Merciless's summoned minions, goes into a spartan rage and pulls out his blades of chaos to fight them all.

Kind of think of this as the more brutal and hands-on ver. of Dio vs. Alucard, being a battle between two war-scarred fighters who had a run in with Ares, except one grows and hates the past version while the other embraces it for the "greater good"
