Fun fact: The original concept had nothing to do with time, the theme was water! But since I'm such a potato, I barely ever plan what I'm drawing in advance, so the ideas come DURING the painting process... Constant evolution! lol
Also, can spot the hidden cat-stellation?

Uh.. Honestly, it was a complete accident! I wanted to draw a girl with blue hair, and I didn't realize that the brush was set to a water texture, and accidentally drew eater for hair! I kind of liked the way it looked, though, so I kept it in and painted around it! The clock was a total afterthought. >w<

probably it's easier or better (?) to draw something like this, since you're in the flow then and keep getting ideas while drawing instead of sitting in front of a white canvas without a clue of what to draw o v o (that is... basically me lol)

Me, too! And definitely! That's one of the reasons I have such a hard time with lineart, because it doesn't allow for a lot of wiggle room as you work! >w<

ohh if you ever get the chance you should definitely try out all sorts of fondue! <3
uhm.. it's like.. you melt lead in a special spoon (since lead is not very healthy... aand the spoon is made of another metal so it doesn't melt o v o) over a candle and then when it's melted you can throw it in water and it will become hard immediately. it then either has a specific shape or you just got... something out of it. However, there are tables where you can look up the shape you got and what prediction it symbolizes for your future. we mostly did it for the fun since we all don't really believe in it, and we also mostly got something, so we could only make random guesses o v o)b

Oh, yeah! It's a HUGE deal here! There are fireworks, cookouts, parties, there's no school..
Though, tbh, I personally don't really care for the holiday; it's just so hard to celebrate when it's so hot you feel like you're going to straight-up melt into a puddle! I wish we'd won our independence in the Spring or Fall, so the weather was better! XDΒ

we have the Day of German Unity here, when they tore down the wall between East and West Germany, which is.. a quite important day.. but the only thing we get is a day off = u = so we don't really celebrate such days as well as Americans do~ (uuuhhh did I even mention before that I'm German? well, now you know~)

oh, maybe.. we have something similar. where I live every city/town/village has a special sort of celebration. it's like a small funfair, there is food, drinks and people-- well, not in our village (we barely have anything more than food and drinks, not even people LOL), but the festival in the next city is really cool! I often go there with my friend and drag her to test every thrill ride there is - the higher, the better! do you know those 360Β° turnaround thingies? (is there a name for it?) I love those!Β
maybe it's kinda similar? sometimes there even is fireworks (but only in the cities... not in our village :'D )

Though, I actually do wish that America would celebrate less,..Β I mean, gosh.. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Independence Day, Super Bowl Sunday, Halloween, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, New Year's, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, Washington's birthday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Columbus Day, Earth Day, Good Friday, yada yada YADA.. The list goes on and on! Honestly, it's overkill.Β [Though I do love some of the holidays! Ooh.. though I wish there was a Cat holiday! ;w;]
And of all the stuff we find an excuse to celebrate about, I have to admit, the one that's always made the least sense to me is Columbus Day. I mean, for crying out loud, why do we care when Columbus came to America?! He was one man that lived hundreds of years ago; do we really have to stop the mail from running and everything because of him? Plus, it's really bad, because it reinforces the belief that a shocking number of people seem to have that Christopher Columbus was the one to actually "discover" America, when it was Amerigo Vespucci. Hence the name 'America!' [And if we're being completely honest, even he didn't actually discover anything, because there were people already here!]
AGH, sorry about the vent! I just.. I mean, I love America and all, but.. sometimes, I just don't get our culture. >.<
Oh, really?! That sounds like a very interesting celebration! I wish there were more meaningful events like that over here, too! It'd be nice to celebrate something that means a lot to the country and its history!

Meh, maybe.. I dunno, I guess I just really don't like Christopher Columbus. He may have been one of the first to discover that the world wasn't flat, but he also was a big part of why disease and slavery came to the New World, too. I mean, even his Wikipedia page says that he "spearheaded the transatlantic slave trade and has been accused by several historians of initiating the genocide of the Hispaniola natives." He just doesn't sound like the type of guy to celebrate, y'know?
Me, too! I mean, I try not to voice that opinion when I'm around people I don't know, because, for some reason, if you mention that the Native Americans were here first and our ancestors technically stole their land, people can get downright angry. You can even be accused of being un-patriotic and crap! Gosh.. The truth hurts, but it's still the truth! There were people here before us, this land belonged to them, and our ancestors had no right to take it; and it's especially jacked up when you consider that the Native Americans are a big part of the reason why they even managed to survive in unfamiliar territory!
Personally, I don't feel like the people alive today should be held responsible for the actions of our ancestors, because we had no say in their actions and most of us do recognize the horror of what they did, but at the same time, to pretend like it never happened is a downright insult! And it's hypocritical to boot, because those same "patriotic" Americans who never want to acknowledge how we came to be here can never seem to shut up about crap people have done to us; when will people like that realize that fairness is a two-way street? :/

Very true.. It's so sad, though. I don't see why people are always trying to take more for themselves instead of just being happy with what they already have. This greed is a big part of the reason why any peace we have in the world is so.. unstable, and why people are always fighting.
Ooh, Germany sounds wonderful! I'd love to learn more about its history and culture! I love studying different countries - especially since American schools will only teach you what they want you to know about the countries - and I've been trying to learn more about Germany in recent months, since I've made friends with some people from there! I stopped for awhile after I got to the part about the Berlin Wall, though, because reading about it made me sad.

Oh, no, don't worry about it! I don't mind if you link me off-site! It's just that this person one time sent me a link that said, "My Art For The Day," but I was really suspicious, so I checked in the lower left-hand corner of my page to see where the link actually went, and it would have taken me through a VIRUS site had I clicked it! I really dodged a bullet with that one, thank God I didn't click it! Pfft, when I confronted the person who sent it, though, they had the nerve to claim they knew nothing about it! Sureeee...
Plus, there was this one site I used to be on that was notorious for people hiding viruses in off-site links, and it was highly recommended to never click on one..Β Anyway! Haha.. that's why I tend not to trust off-site links from strangers anymore, but I don't mind it from friends! ^^
