Back then, there were two Rhythms. █████████████ and ████████. The two called each other the heroes of their lives.

Unfortunately… disaster would strike. █████████████ had to help his colleague, promising ████████ that he would be back. But that day wouldn’t come.

She went looking for him, when he hadn’t returned. She didn’t hear anything from his colleague either. ████████ would find █████████████, however… he wasn’t the same man she knew. His halo was of the opposite hue, his back turned to her as he was facing off an unrecognizable Rhythm. When he turned around… his sclera was black, with his iris the same color as his halo.

Facing ████████, he asked, “Who are you?”

She was in shock. He went to attack her, when the unknown Rhythm blocked his attack. Something happened, and she blacks out.

Coming to, she notices that she’s near a crater. She also sees the unknown Rhythm, who was watching over her. They quickly assure her that they’re not a bad person, as they explained that the man seemed to be corrupted by… something. They tried to reason with him, but he wouldn’t listen. She asked if they got his name, and they said no.

As for the crater and what happened to him, well… The Rhythm managed to wear him down, but he seemed like he wanted to take them out… no matter the cost. So he did some kind of explosion ability, meant to take them down with him, thus causing the crater. While they survived, when the dust cleared, they saw that he was gone. No corpse or anything. So they’re not even sure whether he’s alive or not.

Mulling over what might’ve happened, they suddenly notice that she was gazing off into the distance. Getting her attention, they asked if she had any relation to him. She says that they were just acquaintances. ████████ asked what their name was, with them replying that it’s “Ascension to Heaven”.

████████ leaves. In her grief, she █████ ███████ ████ ███ ███.
