Whew! This took FOREVER! I really wanted to make another pony-avatar crossover, as there was a good response to my last attempt. I chose this scene because I just love the development that went behind Azula. If you think about her situation as a whole, its pretty deep and saddening.

I found that these types of images were really good practice for shading and lighting, due to the fact that cell shading forces you to strong define where light is or is not hitting an object.

I also can finally say that I am now capable of cell shading as well. It used to be my worst enemy, causing me to cower in fear at at its mention . I also ironically learned a bit more about human anatomy as I studied the pose from my reference, and tried to transfer it over to a somewhat equine body.

Overall, this one was a lot of fun and a lot of "that doesn't look good, AGGH", I definitely plan on doing another!
