Perhaps. Perhaps. Your complements make me blush. I study Wing Tsun and Kung Fu, in hopes of achieving martial skill.

Did you ever train in Kali as well?

BrandedDragoon In reply to BrandedDragoon [2012-12-29 23:24:57 +0000 UTC]
Kali is a weapon based martial art using Rattan Sticks. It's movements, stances and strikes are similar to Jeet Kun Do. It's also know as Eskrima, and Arnis. I think there is one other, but I can't remember the name.

I cannot say that I have. I am unfamiliar with Kali. What is Kali?

BrandedDragoon In reply to Keihaas-Art [2012-12-30 12:38:59 +0000 UTC]
Kali is a martial art that originated in the Phillipennes. The style uses either one or two Rattan sticks and is similar to Jeet Kun Do and Wing Chun in its stances, strikes and holds. It wasn't that uncommon for Bruce Lee to train with Rattan Sticks. Though you may know one of the other names for it, Eskirma or Arnis.

Oh! Yes, I have trained with Eskirma sticks in my past life. Ninjutsu, Wing Chun, and Kung Fu. Each had different and similar tactics with them, so I evolved my mixed tactic.

Thanks a lot! It was a fun piece to work on! Here's a secret... I was close to scrapping this piece, to do something else completely different, and nowhere nearly as fun. I think I made the right choice.

"Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless... like water. Now if you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow, or it can crash. Be water my friends!"
I just had to, it'd be a great lesson here! Kinda wished Fei Long would be here, cause this would be considered as "Fei Long: The True Story"! XDDDDD
Long Live Bruce Lee!!! WAAAATAAAAA!!!!

That's a great quote! It's actually the exact same quote that my company, Yellow Tracksuit Entertainment, was founded on.
I had Fei Long in mind the entire time, but I wanted to keep this down to the original eight, from SF2. I have another illustration in mind for Bruce Lee and Fei Long. Stay tuned!
Thanks for checking out my work!

When I was working on this, I pictured Ken to be the stubborn kid, who didn't want to listen to his Masterβbut in the end, he would learn to respect and admire him. The typical conflict/resolution you'd see in an animated film.

Great work! I like the different expressions on each character's face.
So is it true that Guile's tattoo is actually a birthmark?

Thanks for your kind words! I really appreciate it.
I'm not sure it the tattoo is a birthmark. Interesting... I'll have to do some research, because if it is, then that's one hell of a birthmark to have. Hahah!
