Description
A doodle about my reflections on the creative process. Some say that the key to creativity is to allow yourself to get really bored and make your sketchbook or canvas your playground. Others say that everything is a remix and nothing is 100% original; creativity is simply a process of consuming media that inspires you and then using those influences to create something unique by a process of copying, transforming and combining ideas. However creativity happens, which may be different from one artist to the next, one thing is certainly true: The more you talk about what you are doing or going to do, the less likely you will be to complete the work or even get started. Scientists say that’s because talking about your goal can give you a false sense of accomplishment; enough to probably work against you.
But it makes sense: If you want to get something done, then you probably should just do it and not talk about it. At least, not until you have done 80% of the work, first.
