DX.. Started to hate hard brushes and wanted chalk brushes like there were in photoshop... I'll just take screenshots later...

I've honestly only seen that on tumblr and I'm pretty sure that they had renamed the original brushes....

i dont get it! i need help! i clicked on the original link, then on the new tab i clicked the link to get them, and then a window pops up showing me all the brush types (like fuzystatic, wood, fabic etc) but then... IDK WHAT TO DO how do i actually get them onto paint tool sai

I got up to the part where i opened up paint tool's properties and opened the file but after that i got lost, on the part HOW TO INSTALL NEW BRUSHES AND TEXTURES, i don't know how to Copy or uncompress the new brush or texture image files on the folders specified by the brush or texture author , i tried right clicking and copying, but i dont know how to Edit the corresponding conf file or files. How do you do that?

I'm not even sure if you should need those.
Go with Winrar and extract the files...
Download winrar and then go to the files
Right cluck
Extract all
Copy and then paste it into the appropriate folder

Just run your Anti virus software anyway....
Copy the files into the correct folder
Go to Start -Sai in the paint tool sai folder
Run the application
Check to see if everything is there
From then on you can start the app the regular way

So you are saying that this image is no longer in the file folder?
Create a new file in Paint Tool Sai that is 256 x 256
Paste this image in.
Save it as Paper 01 and as a bitmap file.
Please place it into the correct folder.

*** Paint Tool Sai should be closed while you are doing this.
Go to the website. Download whatever set you need.
It's going to be in a zip file.
After you have downloaded the zip file you are going to right click and go into show in folder.
So now you can see the Zip file.
It's probably listed under 'Downloads' on your computer
You are going to right click on the zip file.
If you happen to have a Windows computer you are going to click on 'Explore'.
If you have a Mac you need to download Winzip.
At this point you should see a list of whatever textures were in the folder.
You are going to highlight all of them and click copy.
Then you are going to go to your Paint tool Sai folder.
Paste/Put this into the brushtex folder.
You should have two option in which you can start Paint tool Sai.
The first one is the Paint tool Sai logo with the lime and the paint brush
The second one is a green square/rectangle with a white triangle/play symbol on it.
You are going to need to use the second one.
[It also might be known as start.exe... ]
Open Sai with the second one. The textures should all be there.
to make sure that they work set the background of the canvas to black.
Set the color you're using to white.
Make sure the paintbrush is fairly large--> 200.
It should all be there.
