The first part of my side of the art trade with Dinoboyluke !

This is Luke's original character Tyran from their world 'Ehanasair'. It's a world similar to Earth, except that it's inhabited by anthropomorphic animals.

What this artwork is is Tyran redesigned as if he was my own character and how I personally would redesign him.

Changes:
The biggest difference I say I made was what animals he was a combination of. He was originally a 'Hedgesaur', a hybrid between a Hedgehog and a Dinosaur. Every time I thought Hedgehog, I thought of Sonic, and a Dinosaur seemed very out there in a world with other characters that are more common animals, and with both I felt he was incredibly out there and stood out with those combinations.

So I opted for a more down-to-earth approach and changed him to be a hybrid of a Porcupine and Monitor Lizard, which helps him become a bit more unique and simple, and also helps keep the prehistoric dinosaur look. His design was based off of the Marcsuchus dinosaur, which looks very much like a combination between the two animals. I also made sure to add quills and splice a couple porcupine bits such as his nose and arms to make sure he is a mashup of the two creatures.

For the clothing, I had a lot of ideas, but decided to go for a medieval modern look due to the fantasy aspects in the story that take place in the current era. For the casual, I wanted to present him as a very cool, but also very nice kid, so I went with a covered up but stylish teenage look. His red hoodie has a flap on the back of the hood to add the medieval touch, which can be seen on one of the sketches. For his journey outfit, I had quite a new different designs, but ultimately settled on this one you see here - it reminds me of a caveman in woolly mammoth skin. It's a very warm jacket to keep him warm through the harsh weather conditions that might present, he also has sturdy and comfy walking boots to help him tretch through long and steep walks, along with belts and accessories that carry his essentials needed to survive. I wanted to make sure to keep him green as it was the main colour in his original design, but explored more colours for his outfits to help contrast his skin and fur. I added in gray and dark brown tones to replace the black to help add some more depth.
