Hello again everybody! It's been a while huh? I'd like to introduce you all to my newest character, Princess Isa.It took me forever, but I finally decided that she is the character I'll be entering in the next round of
Fun Fact: Isa is from the same story as my character Nadasa drayah.deviantart.com/gallery/…
I decided to focus on the same story for a while in my art to try and refine and develop it even more.

Ah yay, a new character! And one from the same story of Nadasa too! I wonder what the connection between them is... They don't look like they could be good friends though, they seem to have their differences. Isa seems much colder, more distant and formal than Nadasa... I love her outfit and hair and the way that you made her eyes seem so bright

You're right about that, they could not call themselves friends, not at first or for a long while anyway. They help each other out a few times but the thing about Isa is that she's the kind of character that looks after her own first and others come second.
Though Nadasa does live in the country that Isa rules, Isa has reason to distrust her because of the company she keeps, and ends up using her for her own gain and the good of her people. She's not a bad person, though she does play a role at times that too Nadasa may seem bad, she only does it for noble reasons, and for the good of all rather than a few. She's a princess, she has to think that way.

Ah I like that idea! I like that they aren't black and white, that there's more subtlety than that. Nadasa is perhaps more subjective and often can't understand that Isa was taught to think about the greater good. It's great that the two of them interact in the story. Will you be drawing them together at some point? ^^

Thanks! Yeah I try very hard to stay away from the this character is good and this one is evil set up. Life doesn't work out so simply. Everyone has reasons for what they do and they are usually legitimate to some degree.
Nadasa is a super idealist who believes that there's always a way to end things peacefully and to make everyone happy. She grew up kind of sheltered, which is part of it. Isa on the other hand is more violent, being taught to defend herself and her country, plus the things that one sees high up in power don't always match what someone from a remote northern town might see.
Certainly! I'm not sure if it'll fit into the OC-Training challenges, but I will be drawing them together sometime for sure.
There's also another character who comes between the two of them and complicates their relationship even further, and I haven't introduced him yet, but he will probably be the next character I'm doing in OC-Training. He is Isa's cousin, who she despises, and Nadasa's love interest... so I'm just going to leave that there... lol (You can probably imagine a few things that might come up from that complication...)

Exactly, it's the ambiguity that gives a character complexity!
Ah yeah, I imagine Nadasa would be like that. So would you say that her idealism could also be counted as one of her flaws?
Oh, that's interesting! I wonder what kind of a man he is if Isa despises him but Nadasa is in love with him... I'm looking forward to learning more about that part of the story! Will you introduce him as well?

Certainly. It can get her in a lot of sticky situations and also cause her to be considered naive. Though it does give her strength as well.
Yes I just finished inking a drawing of him, so I'll upload that as soon as I color it and make a background. I think he'll be making a cameo in the anger task lol, because nothing make Isa more furious than her cousin. He's kind of a horrible person but such a dork. He's complicated but I love him so much. You'll meet him soon.

Thanks! Yeah Isa and Nadasa are very very different. They don't see the world the same way at all
and they don't run in the same circles either. Where Nadasa is the protagonist, Isa can be more of
an antihero at some points, looking out for her own interests above almost anything else.

Your art is really dynamic and colorful, and I like how you use markers to bring out the most of your colorful world and characters - I'm sure you won't disappoint, and I am really curious about the Princess! She looks graceful and composed, yet also sweet, and I think that makes for a nice character design already
