Fluttershy is a shy pony and didn't talk much at the beginning, but then, she began to famillar with her friends and talks more. But with other Ponyville citizens, she's still very shy (as seen in βPutting your Hoof Downβ or whatever that episode, that one which Iron Will). Big Mac's isn't talking much either and this is related with his past, as seen in βWhere the Apples Liesβ, where he argued very much with filly Applejack and never listened to her ideas. So he saw his fault and started to talk less and listen more. And Marble Pie is a very shy pony, who is afraid to talk too much. We don't know much about her, but I decided to do a headcanon of her.
