keevs was being her usual helpful self last night, and showing me all the people who'd copied one of my old pics from a How To Draw... book. She stopped at about 15 or so, I think, but that was more than enough.At some point, we all decided that drawing it would be a good idea. I must admit that I didn't expect anyone else to come through, and felt kinda silly when I was the only one who hadn't done it >.<
So here's mine. I kinda... changed the pose a lot XD I've linked the others and the original too

I'm going to jump on the band wagon of "hey I know and love that How To Draw... book". Because well I DO know it, and it was one of the first I bought on my journey into manga styled art.
I have to say that I really loved your ninja girl picture, and I have more that a few old sketches somewhere of her. Mainly trying to reproduce the original pic, as I thought the pose was terrific.
I really like this "updated" version also, and it seems that your dynamic posing skills have really improved since that first drawing.
Now I've found you on dA I'll be watching you as I really dig your art and style. Keep kicking arse!

Sadly I have found myself liking this version of the pic less and less as time has passed, and now I think I prefer the original.
Maybe I'll try yet again sometime X3

Yeah, I was kind of surprised as well seeing all the comments from people saying they have that book.
So do you still have the original, or was that too long ago? Hrm, I have owned the book for quite a few years now, and I have no idea how old it was when I bought it. If you don't have it any more I could scan it from the book for you.
Let me know if you're ever going to have a little "redraw" party of this character again, I'd love to get in on that action. =3

The one your art was in was my first ever How to Draw Manga book. I got it when I was about 12. ^^ I wanted to look for your art online then, but I didn't have Internet access back then. I can see it now though, and it's amazing!

Woo, got that book a few years back and the ninja gal was my fave pic in there for sure. Never imagined I'd run into the original artist on dA.
Awesome new rendition of it anyway, even though it's similar, the tweaked pose makes it feel somewhat fresh and more dynamic.

Was this "The Art of Drawing Manga", the bit you did for the Action section? I found out that almost all of the wording in the tutorials in that book are almost exactly like those found on polykarbon... more than a mere coincidence methinks. Anyway, this version looks several notches better. Any coloured version planned?
