I love my original design for this character. In fact its one of my most favorited pieces of art, but after I drew my Hobgoblin design I realized they were too similar looking. This guy has a very interesting design and it's really hard to come up with a modern version of him. Most of the redesigns from the movies and cartoons make a lot of sense in terms of his character and powers, but they all felt more like concept ideas as opposed to a final design imo. With him I feel like the versions that make the most sense are the movie versions where he's wearing a tactical/military-like suit and a helmet, but they just looked goofy and incomplete. They other way to go about him is to make him transform into a goblin like monster like in the ultimate comics or into the spider-verse, but then he's a big hulking monster and not the goblin I knew and grew up with. So I combined the two aspects and made him transform into a green skinned monster while wearing a armored suit. I made some minor tweaks and color changes, but the biggest change was the helmet. Originally I gave him a hood, because I didn't know what kind of hat he even wore in the classic comics. I went for a helmet, which makes sense with his costume, but all the designs I've seen look odd. I combined those helmet designs with a classic aviator helmet and came up with this. I'm surprised it turned out better than I thought. He's Spider-man's arch nemesis and agent of chaos, it's the Green Goblin!
