Looks like it's emerging from a space portal.
All these hive mind pics have one thing in common: they are ALIEN, dangerous.
My Ruvians constitute a hive mind , BUT as i haven't done any stories about Kank & his parents, relatives,etc., in some 21 years, and as my memory has dimmed on this lapsed work, it's a moot question ...the hive mind mode is not in effect all the time.
