Description
The lesser of the Avu species.This smaller subspecies of Avurids are a complex and intelligent mammal in Terra Noore.
Prides of lesser Avu live in very close family groups. Observation is limited since these creatures live deep within the dark forests of Noore.
It is said that a single loss of life can be mourned over the lifetime of these creatures. Heartbroken parents have even been known to adopt and attempt to raise other species in place of their lost offspring.
Colors are always natural tones that easily disappear within the forest. A brightly colored avu is a dead avu.
Scents are pleasant yet light and airy so as not to attract predators.

These guys are gorgeous! The mix of leopard and a rather owlish face makes a gorgeous combination! I'm going to keep an eye out for more art of these fellas.

eeee omg such a lovely species i love avians and owls are just such mystical creatures full of legands and magic and not to forget wisdom so it is so nice to see a fantasy version of an owl and what looks like a tiger and some kind of small nosed creature X3
and i find it so cute and sad the way they mourn :C aww
XD and i giggled at the bright color part so that means if it had bright colors it wouldnt survive long cause it doesnt blend with the natural habitat that surounds it thus being killed by the predators .3. intresting.

They're really a very complex and emotional bunch. A pride can be like one close family group. Unfortunately, this species experiences great perils and horrific loss. But their compassion and rituals make them one of the most interesting in Terra Noore.
I had to put that, lol, because all the people who I rp with made theirs bright colors XD. I was like, homg nu, they would all die :C Their territories are full of visual predators.
In time, they form an alliance with the Dasyatidae aves in an attempt to survive the dragon invasions of their shared territories.

.3. you make such epic stories for them all i really like how you thought it out and their survival , like most owls they are on the decline expecially here the grey owl and eared owls are going down like crazy i havnt seen one in years but when i was a kid i used to see tons so your story sorta makes sense and the big cat thing too they be endangered :C
and natural colors can be just as apealing as the rainbowy ones if not more cause true beuty lies in nature <3 plus they have natural colors for a reason XD to hide and blend in not stand out and be eaten lol.
