I get that, but people still don't like stuff sprung on them. At least for things like roleplay that can make people uncomfortable, it's probably worth it to be polite and take the extra minute to ask first. Would also make the situation less awkward for both of you so it'd be worth it on your end too lol

i will put it on my list on "how to approach people" ... just after asking if your awesome dragon character is male or female as i am a derp and mostly get that wrong... then laugh with it.
honestly, most people are okay that i or you or anyone make these mistakes, as long as we remain civil and calm about it when they point us out. we try to improve our self and move on. taking a hit with a smile is something we all should learn.
