spent today redoing kai's ref for his modern self in my own world, since it's pretty drastically different from his dnd version and a few things updated since I first drew his ref and got to know him aaalll the way back in september :3c

• the arm/shoulder/thigh fluff is optional - he gets a bit fluffier for the colder months and then sheds it out in the spring

• he works at a strip club and also takes on escorting on the side, as well as runs a successful onlyfans, tiktok, twitter, and instagram

• he's VERY bribable and is willing to do most things if you pay him enough. this includes things like ageplay (he can appear young when he wants to due to his babyface and some light magic), pretending to be a normal dumb animal in feral form, weird niche kinks, etc etc. basically kitsune has anything if you have coin :'D
(in his own words, his only goals in life at the moment are to "make love and make bank"; he is,,, very very different from myself but variety in characters is good to have |'D)

• he's a gifted magic user and uses his flashy illusory lights for his career, like strobe and other light effects while he dances

• raziel meets kai when he's performing at his club, and kai finds this serene beautiful centaur guy intriguing so offers him some services for free (raziel still insisting on paying him because it's kai's job), but they hit it off enough that they continue meeting up casually for a while, and raz kiiinddd of unintentionally ends up becoming his sugar daddy/master lol
raz is in his early thirties at this point (and is now the CEO of the company he's worked at for years) and kai is only 19 but doesn't mention that until after their first rendez-vous: raz is initially a bit uncomfy at that big ol' age gap but kai is like "bruh I'm the one who instigated this and I've been an adult for years now, it is fine," (most species besides human races hit the age of majority at 16 rather than 18), so he ends up deciding it's fine
... also kai has a Thing for older people :'D

• the collar is a gift from raz, a symbol of their bond and 'ownership', so kai basically never takes it off

• raziel and him stop by jay's place at one point on the way to raz's apartment, and the two IMMEDIATELY get along, having super similar personalities (and interests to an extent), so jay's like "oh my fuck I am adopting this boy right now, he is now my Son". and raz is just like "holy shit there's two of them" xD

• his parents are both immigrants; his mother is from japan, and his dad from scotland. he also has three siblings much older than himself who followed more standard life paths, so he's kind of the odd one of the fam. they aren't mean to him for his choices but don't always like, understand or brag about his career choice to friends (in kai's own words, "Back in high school my parents were hoping I'd do something respectable with my life, like a doctor or lawyer or one of those other boring-ass jobs. Even hunting or search and rescue would've appeased 'em. But no, I became a slut instead. :3")

• 'kitsune' is the slang term for his ethnic group of east asian werewolves (who are not inherently magically inclined like the spirit ones from myth, which are kind of a different thing)

• his last name is 'itazura'

• his voice and mannerisms are a bit similar to mitch grassi's

• fun fact, kai is 5'2 while raz is 6'5 so this is their actual size difference 8u8
