So, I've seen alot of steampunk designs for the European countries but I've never seen any for the Asian countries. I don't recall any anyways.
So here's China with a steampunkish design. I'm sorry if it's not that steampunk, I can't design it that well, and I also wanted an Asian quality to it. (Though it does reminds me of Japan's uniform xDD) I think this is the first time I actually coloured China's eyes correctly. xDDI finally finished this, after some months. Ha...ha. >_>
Oh, btw, I found out that textures can cover the crappiness of the colouring.

Not many chines or japan theme steampunk. Their should be more either anime or game, gets tiring seeing europeon steampunk over and over again.

im having an anthro wolf drawn in chinese steampunk. ^^ weilding exotic chinese style sword. Course unlike most anthro wolves he look like a female.

yup, though i am curious what he looks as a human. so find good detailed human artist that doesn charge 120-200 bucks for a single pic. Dont really like artist that do that. Doesnt make a awhole lot of money.

I have been looking for steampunk China ideas for a while and hadn't found any so I am totally excited to see this!

Well particularly, it's for Fanimecon 2011. They chose Steampunk as their theme for next year, and I wanted to make a costume for it, and I love Hetalia so xD.

Hehe I see. ^^ there might be some ready made buttons, but I'm not sure where you can get them. It's probably online ordering. You can use string, but it would take alot of time I think.

Hmm okay xD I was pooling my resources Believe it or not, I have a red (Qipao? not sure of what it is really called.) and some brown material sitting around, so I was seeing if I needed more material or not. I'll have to see what I can do though, because my red (dress thing) doesn't have sleeves, and is a bit too bright in color. (I'm hoping I can alter it somehow... but the sleeves worry me more than anything xD)

Ohh I see. Um um, I guess you can add sleeves onto the dress? Or maybe try to buy the guy shirts, since they are really loose and long anyways. xD There are also 'tong juans' which are like, guy versions of the qipao (well, something like that xDD)

Oh yes, I definitely need sleeves for the costume, my biggest problem is just getting the same stuff to make the sleeves xD. Thanks for the info on the "tong juans" and such-very cool!

I'll hopefully be able to post some new design sketches soon xP It hasn't changed much though, I fell in love with you design xDDD
Oh and I thought about mixing the design with this fanfic (well basically basing some of it off of the fanfic GAH I don't know how to explain...) It's called "You Can't Take the Sky From Me" and it's mostly USUK but China is a general and what not in the World Aviation Force in there xP

But yay~ At the moment I found the fabric in JoAnn's, and it's dye-ing fairly well I just have to get the perfect concoction so I can get the color I want-I'm getting there slowly I think
I think my major issue now is direction (and possibly time xD) because I need to find a pattern or something to go off of. and the shoulders of the dress thing are too tight, and I've ended up favoring the brown collar, so it should make things easier that way anyway xD.
And I'm not sure it's a qi pao after all, since in Taiwan's profile on the Wikia it mentioned that she was wearing a Qi Pao, and her outfit seems quite different from Wang's

FFFT REALLY LATE REPLY IS REALLY LATE.
Yeah, I tried lots of natural stuff and have a research list of things I can try, but I'm also looking into a few other dyes. (I have a friend who has some of my samples and some dye but hasn't gotten to try it yet.)
I've been super busy with classes and all so I've gotten so little time to work on the costume, but I'm still doing what I can! D:
Right now I'm working on a design for the "World Aviation Force" badge that will be on the hat, and thankfully I have a friend who can custom-cut it out for me. C:
