Description
An original species idea I'd had soooooo long ago, back when I was a sophomore in High school. I looked back at the old drawings and had decided to recreate the creature. lD my old drawings were crap.
I wanted to create a number of little pastry based creatures after being inspired by Pieology and her gummy sharks. o^o I made a number of these little things, mostly based upon Japanese and Korean pastries as well as my favorite candies, including Bonbons, macaroons, rice cake, bean buns, ice cream, and etc. The Bonbons or Bunbuns, were going tobe little rabbit creatures that dripped jelly-like filling from their ears and were made of chocolate or other kinds of candy, which I had first pitched the idea to Pie some time ago in a live-stream of hers (back in high school when I had the time for such fun things :'D ) I can't remember who, but someone said it reminded them of something else, so I didn't end up going with the idea. I never posted anything. These guys as well as a number of cute little things, ideas and deviations that I'd never put up or posted anywhere for a number of fears including whether or not they'll be liked, get any attention, whether people would accuse me of taking "art styles" which I don't really think is a thing. If an artist wants to stray away from their "style" and try something new, same for if an artist wants to attempt another artists developed style to see if it works well for them or feels natural, I say go forth and do so! You're more marketable, and much more well-rounded with the more styles you attempt! Anyway there's my rant for the day. But yes! I had been too afraid to post a good number of my art pieces, though I'd been recently creating them alongside doing school work.

And Well, I was recently told by KokoTensho at A-Kon that... despite my fears, I should just post it. Sooooo that's what I'm probably, maybe, hopefully going to do from now on.

Anyway, back to these little guys which are based upon different types of tea, which I must also admit I'd gotten the idea for partially from the Lunartik in a Cup of Tea toys which are really cute! I used to want to buy them whenever I found them when I was younger, as well as the cup they come with/in and their designs. I do use references for styles of china and other types of cup one drinks tea from, but I would never steal the design of any. Each one I create, I want to be all my own. I love swirls and dots, and so both the cup and Tea Cake feature them. I debated giving my little creature freckles, as I love those too.

This was done in Photoshop and Illustrator because... boarders look nicer in Illustrator o^o;

Annnnnd this will probably be an Ask-to-make, or closed species creature... I haven't done this in so long, and I'm still very shy about the idea.

Now about the creatures.

They're essentially anthropomorphic little fairy-like creatures whom hide in tea-cups and like to brew tea, help teas taste better, have a better aroma. I've also debated the creatures being little pets and helpers to witches who may or may not capture them in order to improve their own brews. Each specializes in making a unique tea from a specific kind of leaf adding in their own unique spices for flavor. Some tea's are more plain than others, like this little green tea who is just simple green tea. They're born androgynous and can flap and fly a bit if they have long ears like this one. Sex may appear/change depending on what he/she believes him/herself to be and for the purpose of breeding. They love nothing more than to take a hot bath in the tea they just brewed, though their owners/witches/shop keepers may not like this as they are seen as unclean little creatures (though they actually preen themselves quite a bit =0= and are very proud of their appearances)

So.... this is my first time showing off the design, as well as finally, FINALLY finalizing it. :'D they've been sitting on the ol' work bench for a while.... Hope you like 'em ^^' tell me what you think so I can decide whether or not to put them up for grabs maybe some time, not necessarily as adopts... I guess I just mean for others to use... or like as an "open" species //shrug. Anyway ty XD for reading my ultra-long explanation if you did and bye for now.
