TeaCakes

General Info:

TeaCakes, also known as Thealibum, but sometimes referred to as Tea Fae or Tea Fairies, are small creatures who have taken to serving witches for magical protection. They complete menial tasks for witches of all kinds. While most humans prefer Gomenemon they can raise for battle, hardly any witch is seen without at least one, maybe even more than one TeaCake!

Temperament

TeaCakes are usually very kind and gentle creatures, if not timid or meek at times.
They are usually very obedient, however can act aggressively if treated poorly or abused by those who make a contract with them. If a TeaCake or Witch steps out of the boundaries of their contract however, they are liable for punishment by the order.

Diet

A TeaCakes diet primarily consists of fruits, nuts, berries, leaves, and herbs. They are herbivores, but are able to consume more natural and artificial sugars than most humans and witches. It isn’t unusual for a TeaCake to request sweets as payment for completing a task, or when out with a witch helping them to shop. They also unconsciously feed off of a witch’s magical energy, though it is so little a witch is not likely to take notice.

Naming/Nomenclature

TeaCakes have two, sometimes three names.

They are generally given a name by their parent which is generally something very simple as TeaCakes are simple creatures. This could be the first thing they see when they are hatched, or something about the TeaCake their parent or parents notice about them.

Common names include: Leaf, Stem, Flop, Short, Small, Flower, Sunny and so on.

Their second name is their Title. Most Gomenemon do not like to use their parent-given name, especially if they become embarrassed by it’s insignificance and lack of telling for who they really are. They have a self-given name that they are proud of when they discover what their “best brew” of tea is. Because making tea is in their nature and culture, it is like a sort of “coming of age” when they have discovered their “best brew” of tea, or the tea they make the best. Ironically, this discovery tends to match up with their color-scheme. The title is the name of the tea they blend best and is usually discovered when a witch complements their skills at making a specific tea. It is a “self-given” title, but is technically decided by those who have tasted the tea for themselves.

Common titles include: Green Tea, Milk Tea, Mango Tea, Lemon Tea, and so on.

Finally, their third possible name (especially if bred in captivity) is their partner-given name. Sometimes just a nickname, their partner-given name is a name they wear with pride! It means they are under the care and protection of their witch-partner and as such, are not to be trifled with without answering to said witch/partner! There are a variety of names, and Witches do often ask the Gomenemon themselves if they like the name idea, if they’re old enough. It can range from any human/witch name to something like Fluffy, or Cutie. Regardless, it is an honor to receive for TeaCakes!
