It was the day of the Dr. Kelso’s funeral. Everyone was dressed in black. Even though the students went about doing normal activities and lessons it was required to dress in black as if they were mourning for the late doctor. I knew for a fact that no one even cared or noticed his absence. Already there was a new doctor hired and it was a woman so there would be no chance of sexual harassment.

It had been a week since I last saw the yellow eyed creature and I still pondered why he helped me. I was walking back to my room after a lesson and I noticed a new entity in the halls. It looked like a normal girl. About my age. She had dark brown hair and she was in a white dress. She stood in the middle of the hall as people passed by. She was looking around watching the people pass. Then her eyes rested on mine. I felt a cold sensation shoot through my whole body. Her green eyes, even though they looked innocent, were as cold as ice.

I was stopped in my tracks and stayed trapped in her stare. She slowly began to make her way towards me. Then she was in my face. I could feel her cold breath on my cheek and her nose nearly touching my own. A movement to my right caught my eye and I saw her hand slowly reaching my cheek. The touch was soft but I felt myself go cold all over. She grabbed my head and pressed her forehead against mine roughly and kept them tight together.

“I am going to kill you,” she said while squeezing my head with tremendous strength.

I couldn’t speak. I was frozen. Not from fear but by her power. She was willing me not to move and it was working. I couldn’t overpower her with my own strength because all I had was human strength which is weak compared to that of the evil. They trade their souls for more strength and power.

She removed her forehead from mine and pressed her lips harshly to mine. Then with a soft touch she was gone and I could move again. I felt my body weaken and I noticed some professors staring at me strangely. So I gathered what strength I could and made my way to my room. I immediately laid down on my bed and blacked out.

I jerked awake in the middle of the night with the feeling of being watched. This time I couldn’t see who it was but I knew it was the yellow eyed creature. I ran my fingers through my hair before I rubbed my face. I was tired. The girl from before left me drained.

“I know you’re there,” I said after a long yawn and stretch.

I heard a soft growl. “How can you see me?” a cool voice asked.

“Right now? I can’t. But that’s just because it’s dark but I’ve always been able to see spiritual beings.”

“Do you not fear me?”

“What, are we playing twenty questions or something?” I asked playfully.

“Just answer the damn question.”

“No.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know. Should I fear you?”

There was no response. I could feel that whatever was there was gone. I lowered myself back onto my bed and fell asleep until the routine knock in the morning.
