It's within his nature to look out for his older brother. Some say it's an obsession, other's think there's something more between them. However, none seem to understand that truth of the monstrous brothers relationship. It isn't a caring, or nurturing one; it is of a Master and his devout follower. A wolf who gains some form of pleasure when he sees he has successfully satisfied his Master, who feels like useless waste when he cannot.

This is set sometime ago, back when Roan and Hidde were loners and Roan was still too ill to travel long distances. I assume he relied heavily on Hidde to bring him food, and Hidde barely being a year or so couldn't really bring back a lot for his older brother. But when he managed to find a decent sized meal for Roan, he seemed satisfied with himself.
