  In the Westlands, the royal family has had many struggles. The most prominent was that most of the queen's first litter were starting to drift due to being nearly adults and due to the fact the heir of the pride was already announced, the remaining litter mates likely because frustrated that they would not assume the throne. Their mother had a second litter, and now there was even more competition for something that was already decided on, but also for the attention of their mother who with time became more and more distant.

  Elak had been traveling the region, and while he was away, his half-siblings were born. However, just as the bloodline plagued him, these cubs too shared the marking that clearly displayed their heritage; The dreaded streak across their shoulders. One cub, however, seemed much older than the other three that played with him. But Elak knew it was impossible for him to be from his family and be much older than these new cubs. It was impressive how large he was, but Elak knew he was ultimately his younger brother. The lad noticed the "strange" male, and instantly tried to protect his litter mates. Elak was amused by the attempt, but he had to teach the cub a lesson; he was big for his age, but he was still small in this world. The red male lifted the cub, stating: "And what would you do if I were not your brother? You'd be dead."

  Murdoc realizing his mistake gasped at the fact he was meeting his estranged brother. His litter followed suit in greeting their older sibling.

  But what would happen if Elak tried this when Murdoc was a little older? Pictured on the right we can see a young adult Murdoc with a rather unimpressed expression as his older adult brother now tries to lift him again. Elak is clearly struggling to lift his giant of a brother (whom isn't even full grown!)
