Born during mid-Greenleaf, Desertkit is the eldest son of Honeystripe and Frost-throat, and the brother of two other siblings along with his adopted sisters, Fadedkit and Wisteriakit. He could be described as a guardian of his siblings, especially the two adopted females. He treated them as his own blood and would constantly try and make sure they were okay, along with his two brothers. He would happily let Lionkit eat as much as he wanted, and would at times give up the best spots along his mother's belly to his siblings. Even then, Desertkit had a rather large mouth and made sure his parents would see the way he had perfectly tackled a leaf. He would revel in their praise and constantly try his best to get it. The loving Honeystripe would most certainly boost his confidence with every "Good job!" and "That's amazing!"

[ apprenticeship ] :

Finally.

His siblings, at six moons of age, were finally able to become apprentices and work towards their dreams of becoming warriors. Desertpaw was incredibly eager to show off his skills and impress his mentor, along with all the other warriors. He was discouraged to find Turtledove, a bashful and unassuming molly, as his mentor. It wouldn't be uncommon to hear him complain or grumble about her in the beginning. Eventually, though, he warmed up to her- mostly because of his incessant need to grow and learn (if only to gloat). Her light-hearted and humorous nature seemed to rub off on him, and he began to learn his talkative boundaries. He would still become easily frustrated, and still teased his brother Dapplepaw, but Turtledove's mentorship helped carve the more positive side of his personality.

[ warriorhood ] :

Desertpaw was given the name Deserthaze, and without a doubt, was overcome with pride. Despite his warriorship being short thus far, he's taken it in stride. He's very proud of himself for reaching his goals, and he has yet to stop learning and trying to make new friends. He's a very happy and- for the most part- responsible warrior. He always seeks to be a better can than he is and get over the challenges he faces.

After the long harsh winter the clans faced in result of the fire, Deserthaze connected with his family closer than ever. He found a deeper connection with his elder mother, Honeystripe, taking some of her personality along with him. He teased his sister Fadedrose for her relationship with the ex-kittypet Quailfeather, but learned easily to love them all. He knows, at least somewhat, of the plans for family they have ahead. He only hopes he can be involved in being a great uncle, and hopes Honeystripe will be able to watch the kits grow up and be a loving grandmother.
Fadedrose and Quailfeather have had six kittens, all of which grew up healthy and loved. Deserthaze wasn't as involved as he'd hoped to be, but he feels satisfied that he was around.
News spread that a certain cat was coming back to torment the clans, setting Desert on edge. He worried constantly for his family being out in the territory, hoping nobody would get hurt. Recently, they found out who it was. Falconswoop, the estranged father of Wisteriamist and Fadedrose. More angry than scared, he's prepared to protect his family and his clanmates.
-He begins confiding in a warrior by the name of Marigoldclaw. He finds her interesting
-Faded's kits became apprentices, and his siblings all mentored them, except for him.
-Falconswoop continued to appear, harassing his family. When Deserthaze would patrol, often with Marigold, he was constantly trying to find his scent
-Mosspaw, one of his nieces, was wounded by a fox
-All of the apprentices were able to graduate. Desert is proud of his family, and glad that his siblings had a chance to help raise them
-The clan decided Scalepool was not returning, leaving Wrenwater as medicine cat
-Tensions begin to rise between Shadowclan and Thunderclan rise as scents are found across the border.
-Marigoldclaw asks to court Deserthaze. He graciously accepts
-Cloudstar receives Raccoonstar's declaration of war. Among the warriors going into battle are Marigoldclaw and Mosspath. Desert is worried sick, but shows none of it, encouraging them if he sees them and reassuring Marigoldclaw that she is going to be flawless.
-The battle is stopped by a mudslide. Cloudstar loses a life.
-Deserthaze spends his time tending to Marigold, though agreeing that she doesn't need his help
-Cloudstar retires and Fernpool becomes Fernstar. Mosspath becomes the deputy. Once again, Desert feels overwhelming pride for his family
-Wrenwater takes on a medicine cat apprentice by the name of Hydrangeapaw.

-Flintfall is killed on a newly discovered Thunderpath. Fernstar declares that the path is not to be crossed and only senior warriors may approach it. Deserthaze spends time studying it.
-Aspenstorm, Tigerwhisper, Ducksplash, Quillfoot, and Flickercrest disappear. Again, Deserthaze seems to be near Dappledblaze more often.
-Sunrises later, Tigerwhisper, Ducksplash, Quillfoot, and Flickercrest return to camp. They come with the story of Petroleum, and Twoleg's procedure of taking away a cat's ability to bear kits. Aspenstorm doesn't come home.
-Hydrangeapaw becomes Hydrangeawhipser.
-Fadedrose's kit graduate into Whispersong, Fogdawn, and Shelldancer.

-A famine sets in. Desertsnarl tries hard to keep mouths fed.
-A delusional Houndtongue is killed by Adderflame after tresspassing.
-Windclan and Thunderclan skirmish over a hare. Deserthaze empathizes with the hunger, but doesn't see the fighting as worth it.
-Songbird loses her voice after being trapped in a fox snare.
-Wrenwater and Hydrangeawhisper coach the clan on disabling the device. Deserthaze hungrily soaks up the information.
-Fernstar demands no one go out alone. He always bides by this rule.
-Falconswoop reappears, attacking Quail. Wisteriamist is able to get help. After engaging, she is murdered by Falconswoop, only to be avenged by Fadedrose. Deserthaze grieves deeply, supporting his siblings by checking on them.
