This here's the thing I've been streaming WIPs for and teasing at with various other pieces in my gallery.Rarity's mane really seems to work on Pinkie...

as well as a few others that would be hard to find since I chopped their images down to the pony's tails. If the tail looks familiar to you, maybe you made it. If so, you know who you are.
FURTHER NOTE:
This may end up being my "thanks for 5k" piece, since we're getting so close to 5k now. I'ma try to work something else up though.

They all look so adorable except Fluttershy. I don't know what it is but she just looks wrong! Don't get me wrong, I love Fluttershy and I love the picture but it it looks weird on Fluttershy.

Yeah... I'm not sure it's the mane so much as it is Fluttershy herself.
One thing I find strange about her pose is how her left-front hoof is bent at the bottom. At first glance, it looks funky, and I was originally going to straighten it out.
But after looking at it for a bit, I realized she was leaning forward, and suddenly, that leg seemed to fit.
...Or maybe it's just the mane that looks weird.

Haha I can imagine the reworked intro sequence.
The ponies group together, all with Rarity's mane. Spike pops up with the letter to Celestia in hand, takes a deep breath then stops.
He turns to look at the ponies, who look at him with a look that says "uh-oh..." Little hearts appear above his head, and he chases them all off into the horizon.
Meanwhile, in her throne room, Celestia sits waiting for that danged letter to arrive.
Then...title card!
