Description
Hey folks!Experimenting some more in Photoshop with the pencil tool. It's pretty awesome! All of the brushes here were used in pencil tool mode.
Sorry I can't say much about the image, I have to go. Kind of late for something.
Enjoy!
Photoshop CS.

Awesome! I hope you enjoy using the brush. I recommend using it in pencil mode instead of brush mode, and playing with the settings to see what you can get.

Can't say exactly why I like this so much, but I definitely do! It might be something in the way he smiles. Not to mention your style and coloring is awesome! C:

Thanks so much! I can definitely appreciate this kind of comment. It means a lot that the image speaks to you beyond anything that is immediately obvious. ;D

Thank you! I'm glad someone looks at this piece that way. I think the girl in the tattoo is just as much of a character as the guy wearing it. ;D

I apparently spoke too soon when I said that the pencil tool was bullshit. Now I am going to experiment with that thing, thanks for putting the idea in my head.
Also nice work; love that dry media effect you got.

The pencil tool is great, but I think it has a bad reputation (thanks to the likes of MS Paint, for instance) that kept me from really playing with it until now. I understand its benefits, though, especially after having had this image printed. It looks amazing on the page!!!

Hah, that's what's keeping me from playing with it, the MS Paint look it tends to have. When I get some time, I'm definitely going to play with it now, though. And I can only imagine what this image must look like in print; it's gotta be gorgeous. Which, um, speaking of printing, can I ask you a question about that? I want to try and get my first con table ever for C2E2 in April, and there's one huge thing that's like, totally baffling me.

I don't have any experience tabling at conventions, I haven't done it yet. But feel free to ask and I'll answer your question to the very best of my ability.

Oh, gees, I thought you would've done con tables a bunch of times, I'm sorry. But um, I was just wondering, how do people get things printed in large amounts at various sizes and whatnot? I have no idea where to start for this sort of thing; it doesn't look like they do it at home, that's for sure.

Honestly? Most people just go to a place like FedEx Kinko's or anywhere that does professional printing and just gets it done there. It can be a little pricey, but if you sell your prints for at least $10 a pop, you'll make your money back in a few.

I haven't ditched Illustrator entirely, but I want to be more familiar with the tools at my disposal in Photoshop. The pencil tool is going to make comics-making much easier and faster.

I love it when you use photoshop, because of the gritty chalk texture you give into it
