about the art:
I made this for #Disney Club 's The Magical Music of Disney contest. It was inevitable that Disney (especially Alan Menken) would impact my taste in music, since they were pretty much the only movies we owned whenever I was a child. (I still own the VHS versions that I grew up watching)

The point of the contest was to draw a scene from one of the songs in a Disney movie that really moved us. I was taken aback (a lot, in fact) that nobody who had entered the contest up to this point chose "Go the Distance" as one of their favorite songs. It's so incredibly inspiring to me. Plus, it's Herc's only song in the entire movie. ):
This point in the scene (when he's riding Pegasus) is actually during the reprise, but I consider it to just be the end of the entire song, since it's not too long after the first part, and since it seems to 'end' more finally.

But I digress...
I'm not entirely happy with my Pegasus, but I figured the focus needed to be on Herc, so I spent much more time on him. I'm very happy with the way he turned out. 8D

Also, a side note: I made this wallpaper size because I've gotten comments/requests to draw things bigger... so I figured the size of my screen would be large enough. I was difficult not to become distracted, but I finally finished it. :1

I also apologize for the long rant.
