Description
“Crypt of the Devil Lich?” Wilwarin said, doubtfully. “I really don’t think that we should go anywhere near anything that has ‘lich’ or ‘devil’ in the name, much less both.” The samurai patted her on the back in what he thought was a reassuring manner; she winced, and knew that she would have a bruise there tomorrow. Katsumoto still hadn’t adjusted to the newfound strength given to him by the magic belt.“Ah, c’mon, Will! We’ll be saving people,” Sovelis said, drawing out the last two words of his sentence in a sing song voice and grinning at her.
“Can’t we save other people?” she asked, pleadingly, looking down at the scroll in front of her even more nervously. “The Devil Lich is half-demon, half-drow, and undead, and she has a Drow vampire as her trusted lieutenant. Drow, Sovelis! Dark elves who have a great and powerful hatred for the surface elves. Like you and I, for instance!”
“Well, then, we ought to stop them before they can get to the Elvish village near the system of caves that holds the crypt!” Sovelis said, triumphantly, and Wilwarin sighed, defeated.
“I’ll only go with you if Whiskanranduil doesn’t mind going with as well!” The pseudodragon raised its head and nuzzled against the side of her face.
*Don’t worry, Butterfly. I will go with you, and keep you safe,* she said telepathically, and Wilwarin couldn’t help but smile at the fierce, if tiny, dragon. She patted Whisker’s head gently, lightly scratching the scales behind her ears.
*I don’t doubt it, Whiskers,* she thought back, and the pseudodragon purred softly at her. “Alright. Fine. I’ll go with you to the… crypt.” Sovelis beamed at her, and she scowled at him, then smiled back.
“You know, Sovelis, since you’ve been having such trouble staying on the right path, I thought maybe you would like to go to the temple with me and pray for guidance tonight. It really might help you, you know,” she said innocently, but the quirk of her lips suggested she was being purposely annoying.
Sovelis made a face at her, and she laughed, standing up. “I really am going to the temple; you may stay here or go along if you wish.” And with that, she turned and left the tavern.

Seems an awfully small party for such a ... vicious-sounding enemy. Hope things go well!

*cheers* for Wilwarin's first appearance on dA! It's good to see her, and I do hope that you continue the story. I mean, after all, what could conceivably go wrong in the Crypt of the Devil Lich? It's probably just named that to keep the tourists out.

Yes, indeed! *nods* Pay no heed to the deranged vampire monk guarding the entrance; I'm sure he's really quite friendly!
And I will probably be able to write more of it this weekend, barring invasions by the Viking Horde-- er, that is, my roommate's friends.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the Barbarians did not breach the gates this weekend, and that I can expect some follow-up. Talk to you soon!

Well, the Barbarians got in, but I got out!
And so I have the second bit of this story about halfway done. I'm still working on it, I promise!
