Dinobots were actually once normal Cybertronians made into Dinobots by Decepticon Shockwave, since RID 2015 and Prime are the same universe and timeline as Fall of Cybertron game.

She's a Gem piloting a decently made robot. Grimlock's a 80 ft tall alien robot who can transform into a T-Rex. He's very durable, EXTREMELY powerful, and packs more firepower than Peridot's mech (not to mention his Dino mode's jaws can crush virtually anything with ease). You forget that Grimlock is strong enough to beat both Optimus Prime AND Megatron in a fight, he's highly experienced and is a great strategist, meaning he can use his millions of eons of battle experience against Peridot, and at one point (literally) kicked the ass of a GOD. Peridot has no chance against Grimlock whatsover.

Now about Peridot, while she is intelligent and witty, she is a intel/recon Gem (to my understanding). She's not even fit for the duties of a warrior Gem, plus she barely has any experience in fighting. Peridot used her leg and arm enchancement armor mainly to get to areas on Earth other Gems can't access. She used the enhancements for defense and ONLY defense. Even with her mech, she will quickly find out it's armor can be easily destroyed by Grimlock's weaponry. If she has any chance of even SURVIVING a fight with Grimlock, she has to constantly dodge and weave out of Grimlock's attack range. She can't simply attack him head on, it wont do good against his durable frame. Grimlock has the fight firmly in his favor.
