Description
This piece has grounds in two inspirations. One, I've always wanted to do something involving a Nightengale-esque character. Secondly, I've always wanted to do something incorporating the idea that even a gilded cage is still a cage. To that end, I set her cage in a beautiful surrounding, but even with that beauty around her, she still longs to be free. Enjoy!Credits---------

Thank you so much! Half the lighting comes from the awesome stock pic you took. I'm so glad you like the "smoke" effect. I had to choose between that and just a plain brighter color. My sister talked me into the "smoke." You're very welcome, and thank you for taking such awesome stock pictures!

I don't think anything I've done has actually turned out exactly the way I envisioned it in my mind, but concepts and expressions are even harder since they have no grounds in visual terms. It's like trying to visualize love. It also has a different meaning for each person, so it's even harder to convey.

Very true. The differences in meaning make concepts exceptionally interesting to explore though. Defining love as you see it can be much more intriguing than something tangible like a tree or a rock.

It is, because there are infinite possibilities in exploring them. A tree is a tree. A rock is a rock, but love or some other concept can be defined in so many ways.

Definitely! I generally have a horrid time if I try to bring an idea or a verbal expression into a visual reality.

I try to come at visualizing a concept or idea by thinking of it as a character or a situation in which I've put two characters. It makes it a tiny bit easier. Thank you so much for commenting. This is an interesting thread.
