Description Been awhile since I've posted fan art related to his eh?
Well truth be told I have been drawing it, just not posting, but I figure this one time, eh what the hell why not, let's give an under looked game a bit of love.
I used to draw scenic pics of the wasteland all the time back in high school when I was just getting into the game, I didn't tend to post them since they were complex *well for my skill level at the time* and would often get smudged and ruined by other sheets of paper rubbing up against the pictures or whatever. *sighs* the wonder years.. and by wonder years I mean the terrible high school art years.

Anyway a couple weeks ago since I wanted to practice drawing scenics so I could get a better feel for drawing environments and backgrounds I decided to do up a pic based on Epic Mickey, because well that was the inspiration for most of my scenics back in the day, and while sketching this out I remember exactly why. Though I don't convey if very well through my limited artistic ability *especially when it comes to environments* The Cartoon Wasteland is a truly beautiful world in the sense that it's thick with atmosphere and manages to have so many memorable locations, Mickey Junk Mountain being the one I drew the most back then. I'm not sure why as it's not even my favorite location in the game, but I suppose it is the location that best encapsulates the dark tragic beauty of the Cartoon Wasteland, it's dull, mostly brown and green colour scheme, broken up only by the old worn out pieces of memorabilia and merchandise littered throughout the land, is undeniably haunting in the best way possible.

ย I know that the little narrative there might be a little much for what many people consider to be a pretty mediocre game, but for me, Epic Mickey is in many respects, a game that changed the way I look at art. It might not have significantly changed my art style, however it did teach me to read between the lines, so to speak. I was always looking for the little touches and details that the creative team added into the game, and in doing so, I taught myself to always read deeper into the visual style of pretty much any media I consume, or hell even any media I create. It takes a lot to inspire a person like this game did with me, and this is purely visual, if I got into the story, the characters, the game play, the music, and just did a flat out review we'd be here all night with me just gushing about how great it is.

Point is, I love this game, and I love that it challenged me to do better and to think more critically of what I draw.

This is really cool, I like how you drew Mickeyjunk Mountain back there, it was always one of the creepiest and coolest areas in the game in my opinion.
Nice job everything looks great!

Wow, it's like you're capturing the early concept art of it!

thanks ^^

I'd ague that out of all the locations, MickeyJunk mountain is the closest to those early pieces of concept art, and did the best job of making me feel uncomfortable, but in a good way. It managed to suck me into it's environment, and make me feel like Mickey feels, like pretty much every locale in the game did
