I could feel the irony that Overwatch 2 might be using the exact same PVE mechanism as PVZ: Garden Warfare and TF2's Mann vs Machine mode. And I'm afraid that OW2 is more like a DLC Content to OW1 rather being a sequel. That's not how a video game's sequel works when they don't use the same mechanism as the original. Unlike TF2, they still maintain as a PVP team based mercenary shooter since the Quake version in 1996.
