Description
Nani: Did you catch fire again?David: No just the stage.
-----
I adore Lilo and Stitch. I love pretty much everything about this little movie. It was so different, funny, sweet, and heartwarming.
And Chris Sander's style? Woo, I was kinda sad that I was taking these characters and putting them into my 'blah' style. X3
You know, even when I was little (during my age of, 'I hate everything!!') I found David attractive. Besides the fact that he's just as sweet as can be, I think it's his man necklace. X3
And Nani?Taking care of her little sister, shouldering all that responsibility thrown at her, dealing with an alien... She's pretty awesome.
When I read that Lilo and Stitch was the first Disney movie since Dumbo to have watercolor backgrounds, I knew that I wanted to whip out my watercolors and pay homage to that. <:^)
I've... never really been very good with watercolors. So, when I got to this point (to the point where I'm happy with it), I told myself to stop, while I still could. with traditional media... I have the very bad habit of overworking my drawings. I don't know what it is, but that's what happens! <:^0
So, given the fact that I've never been good with my watercolors (maybe I should read some tutorials), and also given that I haven't worked with them in... oh, five years or so, I think that this came out alright. I like it, anyway. ^__^
Oh, and this served as a good means as to winding down after a frustrating day of graphing sinx and cosx. >:^P

you did a beautiful job. I love the water! but the figures and the faces and expressions are wonderful as well.
I always loved Nani's stomach and thighs she is not, by any stretch of the imagination chubby but her shape is so realistic. It's refreshing you manage to capture that

Ooh, I know, right?? I love Nani's figure. She's natural. That's another reason why I love Chris Sanders' work, the way he draws women is so lovely.

Lilo: Don't worry. She likes your butt and fancy hair. I know. I read her diary.
David: She thinks it's fancy?
What do you mean your "blah" style? Are you nuts? Your style is great!
When was your age of "I hate everything"?

Nyahaha, that was my second choice for a quote.
'Blah' as in ordinary. X3 Especially when compared to someone as unique as Chris Sanders.
Hm... My age of 'I hate everything' was probably from age 11-14? Something like that.

Even though it is in your style and not the style from the movie or original artist, you have done a wonderful job capturing a rare moment or peace for this couple. I loved the movie as well. I don't know if you are aware that in Bambi 2, they sorta did painted backgrounds. What they did was get traditional painters and asked them to come in and paint everything on the computer, this was back in the small time that Disney got rid of ots 2-D animation department. I am very glad that John Lasiter (or is is Lasider?) pushed for this department to come back and that he is the head of the Imagineers... je has spearheaded most of the changes to the Southern Califormia Disneyland including the major overhaul of California Adventure. Disney, as a company did a 180 after Steve Jobs bought it.

I wasn't aware of the more traditionally done backgrounds in Bambi II, but I am not surprised by it--those backgrounds looked really good.
I believe it's 'Lasseter'. Yes, I'm glad he's working for Disney now, hopefully he'll encourage great things again. <:^)

I agree. I am really looking forward to California Adventure and I think the biggest change he made before Steve Jobs purchased Disney... when they made "Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blaster" it was a big fad to take photos of the people riding the rides, but they charged you for the photo... well, Astro Blaster takes your photo but they send it to your email and you can print it if you want... it is so super cool!

Not good with water color my bum. This entire composition is absolutely gorgeous. I love their anatomy. You pulled them off excellently in your style. The water colors, may I say again, are gorgeous? I love how you shade their bodies... Very very nicely done. The composition over all, how they are sitting together, sweet and fitting for them. <3 Plus, I would say that's difficult to pull off, but you did a magnificent job! Definitely one of my favorite from your CC collection. Hands down.
Kudos on a very very calming and well put-together piece. You definitely pulled it together excellently. <3

Aw, thanks, Curriaan!
Hehe, naw, my watercolors are still in dire need of refining, but I'm glad you like them! And I'm also glad you like my composition, I was kinda nervous people would think that it's too simple.

You're welcome (:
Well there is always room for improvement, but I think you did an excellent job. Watercolors are difficult to work with.
Noo. The characters were certainly enough, simply because of how you positioned them *nods*
