Description
We're throwing another Coloring Book Challenge contest over at , and I thought it'd be fun to take another crack at it~ It's a fun challenge, highly recommended!I couldn't think of an artist to mimic, so I asked my sister to start throwing out names for me. She said Van Gogh , and here we are!
I hadn't done Aurora yet, and because she's my favorite it was about time to do a coloring page for her.
I can't relocate the exact coloring page I used, but here's the same one (just at a really bad res).
This piece at my Tumblr. Reblog, don't repost~!

it shows!! I also like your choice for the dress: it looks more magical this way and, besides, it suits Van Gogh's style well, too
the squirrel is adorable, too!!

Very awesome work! Wow, you have just an awesome style overall, and I love the colors that you've chosen. The background is deceptively simple--I had to go back and look at it again after my first quick glance and I really admire it. It's very playful and sort of, I don't know, enchanting. Makes sense, I guess! Haha. You've done some really great work here, great job!

Aw, well thank you! I can't vouch for how much of this is "my style" since this is more of an homage than anything, but I appreciate it just the same.
For the background I was going for that signature kind of Van Gogh spiral, but more down-played as I wanted Aurora to be the focus.
Thanks very much!!

Ooh, this is so beautiful! Β I actually didn't recognize it as Van Gogh at first, you did such a wonderful job with the textures you seemed to make it your own. Β Gotta love the touch of blue on her dress, too!

Hahah, well thank you! Van Gogh was both easy and difficult to mimic. But I'm glad you like how I interpreted him!

I choose Van Gough as well although I have not finished mine so I approve greatly the you used him and such a great job. Van Gough is one of my favorite artist for a number of reasons and I think you're piece does both him and Princess Aurora justice.Β

WOW! This is simply amazing! I love the whole texture the piece has
Interesting how you chose to blend the two colors for her dress-- it turned out really awesome!
I think it gave it more depth as well
Out of curiosity, how long did this take you?

DrMistyTang In reply to artfromtheheart92 [2014-10-12 22:57:35 +0000 UTC]
Thanks very much! Van Gogh's work has a brilliant texture to it, so I really wanted to bring some of that into this.
I think this one took me about 4 or 5 hours. But I'm not really sure, as I don't time myself.
