Description Leather and acrylic.

This mask has been sold, but if you are interested I'll gladly make another for you!
Unfortunately at the moment I have misplaced my original pattern for this one, but that just means I either need to find it or make a new, better one.

wicked cool. i'm sure the leaves could be improved to look a little more natural but i would so buy an autumn varient of this mask.

Wow, that's a fantastic idea. I hadn't considered trying a different season. Thanks for the tip about leaf realism, too. I made another version of my smaller nature mask for a customer and tried a more detailed leaf technique, but it would probably work even better on this one where the leaves are larger and I can include greater detail.

yea they probably would. probably wouldn't hurt to maybe muck around with making leaves out of clay to get a fel for shaping them.yea, other seasons let you do different shapes, types of trees, and a whole wide pallet of colours, glad i could help

Thanks. I used a two-tone color scheme to add definition, with a dark base layer to cover the entire thing, then a lighter brow surface layer that didn't fill in the grooves I tooled.

The detail is incredible. Like, the stitching on the left side? Crazy cool.

Now this, I think, is my favorite! Very well done! I love the roots at the bottom, and the leaves don't look corney like some I've seen. Very amazing job!

Thank you. I've improved my tooling since making this mask, so the next round of leaves should be much more realistc.

WOAH.

I bet it went quick.

This is....SO LEGIT. (Sorry, I can't think of much else to say! ) I mean, woah. IT JUST LOOKS SO FREAKING COOL!!! Like, the leaves, and the bark stuff, wow. You just keep getting better and better at making masks.

Thank you. Glad you like it. I have actually expanded my technique some more since making this mask, and am now in the process of returning to older masks and remaking them with more advanced methods. For example, the Black and White one will be dyed black rather than painted, with the white acrylic overlayed, and the white designs will all be raised from the background via tooling.

You're very welcome!!!! Well, I'm very excited to see them then! Don't you just love it when you're working with a certain kind of style and then you just develop some new and better way of doing it?

I already finished tooling and sculpting revisions of my rose mask, and my nature mask; each just needs to be dyed/painted. I've already tooled, sculpted and dyed a new version of my black and white mask, but the white accents still need to be painted. It's a difficult trade-off because I prefer to spend my energy and materials creating new pieces rather than making duplicates. So far I've managed to keep things fresh by improving on old versions, but eventually the time will come where I will start directly duplicating old designs that sell predictably well, since the process goes much, much faster when I have an existing stencil to work with.
My masks have begun moving from a hobby to a job. The good news is that I can support myself doing what I love, though on the other hand it means I will occasionally need to make some concessions based on what is economically prudent, and while I will never be able to (or want to) mass-produce any of my masks, sales have to take precedence over raw creativity once in a while.

Yeah, that's true. But still! It's great to be making some good money off of something you love. And it seems you'll be busy with that for quite awhile.
