Description
I went a bit crazy on my latest ikranBut once I began this texture I couldn't stop! I LOVE space. It was meant to be more of an "accurately patterned" banshee, but hey, close enough right?

Most interesting. This review comes from a person who has only seen "Avatar", like, once, and because of that is hardly fandom-savvy. I hope it will provide encouragement to create more as having a completely "green" person enjoy one's rather hermetic work is quite rewarding.
First of all, you have a landscape. A landscape with a lot going on. You have an imaginary species of... reptiles? I would say those are reptiles. There is also a lot of flora, this time looking fairly Earth-like. It is used in a very refreshing - avant-garde even - way: ferns alonside some sort of blue-green coral, a deciduous tree. Part of worldbuilding of own universes requires a lot of research and a thorough knowledge of how ecosystems on Earth function. Otherwise immersion suffers. Here, your artwork gives me a lot of insight into the planet it takes place on. It definitely has the very same atmosphere (possibly climate too) as Earth. Definitely some Sun-like star to in the right distance. It's actually the best part of the render. Lighting is a pain no matter the software used - but somehow you handled it so capably! It is serene, languorous, relaxed. The mist and the mountains on the distant horizon are just lovely as well. It's obvious a lot of work went into all this. Are you by any chance composing the scene in Vue? It gives off a distinct Vue-ish feel in my humble opinion. Then, you have the flying reptiles - I can imagine it took some time to pose. Personally, I would have used less striking textures. Let's think about it for a moment. Are they predators? If so, they would need a coat to mask themselves. If not, do they have many natural enemies? If the answer is yes, they should try to blend it with their surroundings better too. I do see the appeal, however: they're striking.
Some things I would try to work on: the water. I strongly suspect it's actually a plane, some primitive, made half-transparent through opacity and translucency settings. It works well enough to the right, but the line near the wing more to the centre of the render is a bit too crisp. You could try changing the value so that it actually resembles a sprinkle of water. The ground textures could be spiced up a bit too, although I cannot say what options you have without knowing your software. Some physics-based engine may be a way to go. Maybe simply applying a different shader would do. The tree seems a bit unrealistic, but I bet it's the prop's fault. Overall, you should be proud of yourself.
Lastly, thanks for Constructive3D for showing me this work.

Thank you so much for the wonderful critique! This piece I actually thought I could have done a lot better on (I still can) but did chose it nonetheless for this. Thank you as I will definitely keep all of this in mind. Yea, lighting and water are quite tricky!
I do use Vue, but I admit I did not do this particular far background. I have, however, started using my own and don't plan on using pre-made anymore. It's so much fun!
