Except dogs are domesticated, and have been for 1000s of years. and must be under human care to live properly. while orcas are a 3-ton apex predator that can take down the world's largest creatures.

This is not entirely true

While certain breeds of dogs can survive without human assistance, most would not do well. Orca, on the other hand, do not deserve to be forced to entertain people for monetary gain and truly belong in the oceans.

Dog breeds are man-made, but any species are wild and can live without a human, it does not matter where they are. It is a mistake to defend marine animals and indulge in other species, e.g. dogs, fishs, cats, parrots, hamsters etc... They also belong to nature. Many animals are kept in much smaller cages than orca's pools and nobody fights for them like for orcas.

If you have any 'pet' at home, let them out. It's hypocrisy to fight for the freedom of orcas and then breed 'pets', live with them at home and make 'selfie'. Each artificial breed can be stop breeding and it's easy to make pets live normally in nature. Let's start fighting for handicapped races, not for the freedom of unchanged dolphins - they are relatively safe. Let's not dramatize.
