Description The Turtle Cove fossil site, Oregon, 27 million years ago. A group of three Cormoceras Presidioceratids are running away from a pair of Swisheraptor Occisoraptorids . Presidioceratids are highly cursorial descendants of basal Pachycephalosaurs and are closely related to the much smaller Paleocornids. They are sleek, fast running bipeds with a single horn in the center of the foreheads and two short squamosal horns at the back of the head. They are covered in a short coat of orangey- brown fuzz with dark stripes for camouflage. They are 4m long. The Occisoraptorids chasing them are close relatives of Mesaraptor. They are greyish in color, with a white underside and black facial masks. Their beaks are sharp and adapted for shearing flesh, while also being increasingly proficient long distance pursuit predators.Β

In the near distance the large Boreoraptorine Dromaeosaur Typhoraptor approaches from behind the shrubbery, attracted by the commotion. It is about 6m long and heavily built, with silvery black feathers and a white head. At the right side of the scene, the fox-like beaked Troodontan Korthoraptor is carrying off a mouse-like Multituberculate in its mouth. Korthoraptor is sleek looking, with a crow-like beak and is crypticly colored. Up a nearby tree, the small-long bodied insectivorous Metatherian Acerictis looks on. Its tail is non-prehensile as it normally spends most of its time on the ground. A the base of the tree, a badger-sized Taeniodont is digging in the earth completely ignoring the commotion nearby.

This scene is spectacular! It reminds me of this picture actually (commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/F… )! Was that intentional?
