I can't believe I'm saying this! I tried my to warn all of you and the people of Shore City, after that wild Gem chase, but all of you laughed at me and you have no idea how bad Steven was! You think I was the one causing anger and frustration, but that's not true! I would never make anyone angry, but only to myself, like a Gem like me. The truth is: Steven never got along with me, he thought I was Red Diamond, but half of it is true though, even though she doesn't exist! You think of him of some angel but he's not that kid anymore! I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... I have to STOP HIM!!!!

Monster Rojo is a false antagonist of my first fanfiction of Steven Universe Future. He is the monstrous form of The Pacific Octopus after giving in to his inner turmoil and colored himself in red.

Appearance

Monster Rojo is an enormous Red Pacific Octopus like Gem creature with Red Diamond's Gem on his face. His face is just like your modern day
Giant Red Pacific Octopuses, but with big eyes with medium-sized pupils and a razor-sharp beak, similar your modern day Squids and Octopuses.

Personality

As a combination of his increasing mental instability and uncontrollable new strength, Rojo reaches his final boiling breaking point, seeing himself as a hollow shell of the rage, hatred and destuctive war-bringing brother that he was. After his breakdown about Steven's mental issues, it is revealed that if Rojo believes himself to be a monster (which he isn't) he can actually become one. He is then reduced to a mindlessly feral creature intent on causing destruction out of his overwhelming anguish and on his brother Steven, in this state he still does listen to anyone and will not ruthlessly attack those who try to stop him without hesitation. Despite this the real Steven is not completely gone as enough positivity and compassion from his loved ones can go soft on his rage, effectively causing him to return to normal.

Biography

When Rojo is confronted by his pink brother, Steven and his closest peers, he is prodded (in a sad way) for information about his brother's problems with it being learned that Steven's brother, Rojo never told anyone else or Rojo didn't know about a recent visit to the hospital or other events; after Steven admits to everything including his intentional shattering of Jasper and attempted destruction of White Diamond to everyone's shock, including his three brothers, he finally snaps completely and Rojo sort of did the same thing but with with ink, claiming to no longer be the person he was during the time of the Homeworld Gems and openly denouncing himself as a monster before actually turning into one, demolishing the house with his transformation. Unlike Whitey, Rojo's still royal and loyal to Steven's Dad, Greg, The Gems, Steven's other brothers and of course, Spinel, Steven's friends and of course, The Diamonds, Whitey, Azul and Amarillo.

Once Rojo is his Octopus form, he has to stop Steven before he goes on a rampage and damages the Crystal Temple, threatening to destroy Beach City and Little Homeworld his friends try to restrain him; the Great Diamond Authority and Spinel then arrive and are shocked when told about Steven and Rojo's condition. Both Yellow and Blue Diamond try to remold their forms and feelings with their new powers and White Diamond attempts to connect with Steven and Rojo using hers only to collapse due to Steven's fury and Rojo's truth about Steven. Rojo soon frees himself from Lapis Lazuli's chains by letting out a beam of ink that pushes everyone back and getting them coated in ink, even causing Garnet to unfuse. When Rojo tries to fray Steven by wrapping on his back with tentacles and suction cups, no matter how small Monster Steven and no big Rojo is, Steven able to knock out Rojo after a long struggle. However, Steven's love interest Connie Maheswaran rallies everyone and says they have to show Steven compassion as he once did with them.

The Gems, his father Greg Universe, Spinel and The Diamonds gave him a hug and explain how Steven helped them overcome their own difficulties and they'll also be there for him after which Connie gives him a kiss, snapping him out of his anger and making him shed tears that return him to normal, same with Monster Rojo.

Powers/Abilities
Super strength: He was able to knock Monster Steven back away from The Crystal Temple by shooting ink at him. Even though he was supported by Lapis and then the Cluster he released himself almost effortlessly.

Superhuman Durability: his tentacles could hold Monster Steven away from The Temple.

Rage: Rojo was able to power through and tank almost everything thrown at him due to the rage that he inherited from Rojo's neighbor: Rose and humanity he inherited from his neighborly father.

Magic Immunity: Due to his strong emotions and octopus status, Rojo could partially stand even the abilities of the other Diamonds, being relatively unfazed by Yellow Diamond's light destabilization and Blue Diamond's pathokinesis, which he definitely can, additionally overwhelming White Diamond's mind control, and Red Diamond's Blaze Beam.

Shapeshifting: Since Rojo turned into a Octopus-like monster due to his thoughts of being one, it was clear he kept this ability. It appeared that as time passed Monster Steven increased in size; this could be seen that after appearing as tall and long as Whitey, Azul and Amarillo, he later looked only a tad bit tall as the Diamonds and surprisingly, Monster Steven.

Swimming: Since Rojo is in his Octopus form. He was capable of moving and swim in liquid surfaces and on land as seen when charging against his brother, Steven; this is something shared with his Steven's pet Lion and numerous other Gems.

Gem Half/Red State: Since Rojo transformed while in the state of his Gem half, it is possible he kept the abilities while this form was active and could be the reason he gained the power to truly challenge against his little brother, Steven, and turn into a monster in the first place.

Sonokinesis: After charging himself up which resulted in his brain and eyes glowing white, Rojo can shoot a beam of ink that managed to send everyone within range flying to the point Garnet unfused into Ruby and Sapphire and get coated in ink. The attack also created a blast that pushed away the ocean, surrounding him, even knocking down Monster Steven and awakening the Cluster. Since a octopuses don't roar, Rojo's Ink could be a little bit stronger than Monster Steven's scream when tapping into his brother's powers.

Healing: After being embraced by his family and friends and his brothers, Monster Steven began crying and caused the water around him to turn pink, which could be attributed to Steven's ability to heal or resurrect Gems and other living beings.

Ink: Just like all octopuses and squids, they can shoot ink out of their ink sacs when frightened or angered.

Weaknesses
Air: After becoming a octopus-like monster, Rojo is still a royal and loyal creature (just like Whitey, Azul and Amarillo) that attacks and destroys everything that attacks him. This was shown when he fought recklessly instead of formulating a plan, only made whale-like sounds and didn't use his original or complex abilities. But if Rojo stays out of water, he'll start suffocating and get dried up and become weaker.

Emotional Manipulation: Since his transformation is the result of Steven's negative emotions, it is clear positive ones can work against Rojo. This was used to make him understand that since Steven was there for everyone he cared about, even his other brothers, they loved him unconditionally and would return the favor, which resulted in Steven remembering everything and turning back to normal, same with Rojo.

Rojo's monster form resembles The Kraken and your modern day Giant Red Pacific Octopuses.
His Octopus Form is like a tad bit bigger than Whitey, Azul and Amarillo. At night, he glows in a bright red color.

And his other weakness is sneezing, just like Monstro The Whale form Pinocchio hated sneezing, but Octopuses and Squids don't have noses, so they can't sneeze.
