Notes/trivia
The "meddling kids" line of the episode is given to Lt. Tanaka, as the villain apologized for her actions.
This is also the only episode of What's New, Scooby-Doo? to have the chase scene song played during a police chase instead of a regular monster chase.
The episode title is an allusion to the cult film, Big Trouble in Little China.
This episode is a homage to Godzilla.
Professor Pomfrita is a reference to Professor Pomfrit from the original episode: Big Appetite in Little Tokyo, also played by William Schallert.
Takamoto Studio is a reference to Scooby-Doo co-creator Iwao Takamoto.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches
Near the end of the episode, Shaggy's ear is brown for a second.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities.
Professor Pomfrita must be the greatest robot inventor in the world if she can create a giant, monstrous, robotic version of Daphne in only a few hours.
How did she create something that huge in, approximately, only a few hours? Furthermore, how did he make the robot appear and disappear almost instantly? The first time she could have stomped to and from miles and hidden it somehow later, and the second time she seemed to have hid it behind a large hotel building. However, it seems to disappear almost instantlyΒ the second time, without any explanation.
Perhaps he used Catbot to make the Daphne robot, and to hide it. Catbot is pure scientific miracle -- it can produce anything out of a tiny body shell even when it couldn't possibly fit and when it doesn't have room for the raw materials much less the production equipment (for example the bed and the fresh-cooked pancakes created at the same time).
Professor Pomfrita's attempt to incriminate Daphne also has no meaning. Since she wanted to ruin Dr. Onoderette out of sheer envy, what would she gain by blaming Daphne?
Why did she not just build a regular-looking monster or follow his original plan and give the monster the face of Onoderette herself?
And since the Professor wanted to destroy the Onoderette factory, why did she not attack it at first rather than attack the city?
Elliotta Binder is a replacement for "Elliott Binder"
Lieutenant Tanaka didn't even bother to apologize to Daphne for trying to imprison her unjustly (who could have accused her of a false attempt at prosecution) and neither did the professor for trying to incriminate her.
If the bullet train is traveling at 210 miles per hour, it is unlikely that the gang could hang onto the roof, or manage to move far enough to get inside the carriage - the wind would be similar to a category 5 hurricane.
Pulling a cord shouldn't have derailed a train.
The 50-foot Daphne has 4 toes, yet leaves 3-toed footprints.
Quotes
Shaggy: Zoinks! Ah guys, don't look now but it looks like Daphne really is the monster!
Fred: WOW, THIS IS WHAT I CALL RAPID TRANSIT.
Shaggy: THAT'S BECAUSE THIS IS THE BULLET TRAIN FRED! AND JUDGING FROM VELMA'S HAIR I'D SAY WE'RE GOING 210 MILES AN HOUR.
