Jack Kirby's Ikaris forThis one was such a gas! I decided to go all out on the Kirbyness for Ikaris. It was a lotta fun trying to emulate and copy his style. Hail to the king baby!
Oh and I know his hair is supposed to be more "He-Manish" but I saw another Kirby pic that had hair like this. I felt like swiping it.

Man, you really nailed this one. I probably shouldn't even say this but, even though I am a comic book fanatic, I was never quite as crazy about Kirby as everyone else seems to be. I know, I know - that's almost blasphemy!
I guess I liked it best when he did the breakdowns (since his action layouts were excellent) but then someone else finished things up so the anatomy wasn't quite so stylized.
Anyhow, none of that takes away from the great job you did here!

I dig what you're sayin. I think part of what makes him cool is just how much he changed comics. He definitely started a new era for artists.
Oh and it's not blasphemous (well even if it is, it's okay). I feel the same way about a lot of music. I can't stand a lot of the stuff that you're "supposed" to like.
