Description This was originally a full colour piece, presumably in advertisement of the second gig (series, not gigabyte) of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

Spawned out of a bit of inquisition about how to achieve a good effect I've seen on the interwebs where certain things are kept in colour and the rest is in greyscale, I decided to experiment with a few pictures I had lying around in my wallpapers directory.

This is the first, achieved using a monochrome adjustment layer and painting in black, on the adjustment layer, the bits I wanted in colour.

First thing I think of is the talk about the GITS live action/3d movie coming up from Stephen Spielberg. In fact...that holds the potential to become the concept...

Thanks for the fave and the comment. I'm really not that experienced with Photoshop. I have it on the computer mainly to fool around in. I picked up this technique today and this picture was my first guinea pig in using it. My friend suggested sticking it on my seldom-used dA, so I did. I'm glad it is liked!
