Seriously though. I don't know if you made all of these yourself (?), but taking these animations and compiling and organizing them is definitely superbly helpful and must have taken hours!?!

Because of Flash and how the people who use it always end up making ugly cartoons such as this.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingModdie In reply to ToonEGuy [2013-07-03 11:16:32 +0000 UTC]

By 'this' I assume you a referring to Mlp:fim and not ~Drud14 's deviation.
Granted cartoons made by flash are not always great, however I beg to differ when it comes to Mlp:fim.

Flash normally leads to cartoons being bland and 'ugly'. Johnny Test is the example most people will give you of this.
However, shows such as Motorcity (as terrible as the show is plot wise) use flash and have amazing animation.

Do remember, as much as [the majority of] bronies will argue; My little pony is aimed at young girls. (Granted Faust did a great job at making it enjoy able for all ages.)
For what the animation is used for it does a great job - animating colourful ponies to sell toys.

Don't get me wrong, if flash was used to animate 'Ren and Stimpy' or 'Ed Edd n' Eddy' the shows would have looked terrible. However, these shows require a unique style such as the one they had. The style added to the jokes and such.

All in all, flash is a great tool for creating modern cartoons. It can work well on shows such as Mlp:fim, which is pathing the flash is used. Showing what it can achieve. Further more, Mlp has come a long way itself. Look at all the pervious (non-flash) generations and tell me that was better. Or better yet watch Newborn Cuties and tell me modern cartoons using flash aren't improving.

I've looked up the original My Little Pony cartoon from the 80's and My Little Pony Tales, and yes, I found those more visually appealing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KingModdie In reply to ToonEGuy [2013-07-03 12:57:23 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm glad you actually took the time to look up the original. I appreciate everyone has different tastes in cartoons and the way that they are presented.
However, I would not go as far to say that shows such as Mlp are 'ruining television'. I blame the likes of Jersey Shore and (modern) MTV for that.

There are many cartoons both modern and old you could watch instead. At the end of the day, no one is forcing you to watch Mlp.

I've never actually been into My Little Pony as a child, but I guess you could thank FIM for introducing me to the original cartoons cause I hated the look of the new one so much that I desperately wanted to find something better. I did, and now I appreciate the older cartoons for having the kind of quality that 80's animation has and for being all the things that FIM isn't.
