PATREON
This wall carving is in a lot more rough shape than the last, I wonder why.
—Redo Notes— (Possible spoilers for new readers!)
Comparison Page Rin is much more steadfast in her dubiousness now, forcing the kids to “activate” the amulet instead. And the panel of the High Mages is also a wall carving to match the page before it.

The color/texture guru strikes again!
The carving looks way more realistic now! And much more glyph-like!
I also like how you redesigned the Yellow mage into an actual bird humanoid rather than a human with some wings and tbh I was a bit confused what was going on in their head region in the original comic. This version is much clearer. And the little detail about all the mages facing one way while the King faces the other is great foreshadowing! It may have been there before but it's certainly more visible with the uniformity of their positions now

Thanks!
My original concept for harpies has changed quite a bit, they were originally supposed to work like how birds do in certain animated movies/cartoons (I can't remember any specifics) where birds use their wing feathers as fingers? So I thought drawing them more human-ish seemed right until I realized I didn't like the concept anymore (which happened pretty quickly, thankfully).
(Also that's not the king :>)

You're welcome!
I get where you're coming from, I remember those kinds of cartoons! It is always interesting to learn how creators evolve and redesign their characters and stories I'm excited for when we may possibly meet a harpie in the comic--I'm interested to see them in person!
(ah yes, you're right that would make more sense. ;^; don't mind me, still I like that the gray mage is turned the other way, it does paint the picture of conflicting ideals/magic)

I really like how the first panel turned out, cool abstract style for each figure and the coloring style really makes it look like ancient paint on stone.

oh wow, the old designs were ... really old!!!! =O
I'm curious about the bird lady though, I don't recall seeing this race yet!
Also, the new way dialogues and reactions are put together makes so much more sense than before!

Thanks! We've seen her in chapters 3 & 5, she's one of my favorites to draw though (because I love birds!).

Had to delete your comment so it wouldn't be a spoiler for any new readers reading the comments, but yes.

I love the High Mage Hieroglyphs! Very Egypt. I find it interesting how the Grey mage is the only one facing opposite the others...
