I'm glad you caught the cancer thing! I tried to explain it in a way someone with yellow magic would understand it, and back then they wouldn't have known very much. Tay's definitely rude, but in his eyes he thinks he's being very reasonable about his family and keeping them together.

Both uncles were the king's brothers, the queen was an only child. But yeah, Tay's still a dick. I wouldn't say he's an eye-for-an-eye type, more like a limb-for-a-bruise type, if that makes sense.
