Vexus had finished rebuilding her hive after Wolfsea had taken in the troublesome Nessie from the troll research institute president for further protection which Vexus heard that accursed Dim-Bulb Firefly about to light up her hive once more. Vexus popped her head out and buzzed angrily to catch Nessie’s attention that the hive was occupied, and Nessie giggled even more. “Hiya Queenie!” Nessie yelled as she wildly waved her lighter around which Vexus popped out of her nest and moved in front of Nessie, “You stupid imbecile! You have no idea how long and how much work I have devoted to reconstructing my home after your moronic stunt last time!” Nessie leaned her lighter closer to the hive as Vexus grabbed Nessie’s lighter and threw it near the toaster.

                Nessie figured that Vexus was doing this as a joke to have Nessie retrieve and act like a dog since Vexus kept calling her a dog with how much slobber and mess Nessie made. Nessie smiled pleased with herself hovered over to the picture near the toaster of Anais and the new family she had joined. She beamed as she in dry-erase marker drew her and Vexus into the picture, Vexus smiling and hugging Nessie. Nessie picked up the lighter to “go complete the joke” when she saw Vexus climbing up the wall with a large load in her back left hand. Nessie floated over to see what was Vexus had when Vexus struggled as her footing was lost in the wall and she dropped new building materials for the inside of her hive. Nessie didn’t understand that was building material grabbed the load from Vexus and threw the load down. Vexus’ shock at what just happened turned to anger as she flew in front of the blue bug. “HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU DESTROY MY BUILDING MATERIALS! Anais spent days to weeks finding these items to my specific orders and what do you do? You throw them down and smash them to pieces!” Nessie cringed as Vexus yelled. Nessie didn’t understand why Vexus was so angry but Nessie’s usual defense in this situation was to joke it off. “Building materials go down the hole?” She said weakly as Vexus bit her lower lip and her face turned a maroon before she elevated herself to stare down Nessie. “You think this is a huge joke? You think everything’s a joke! That’s why you’re a loser, 2 losses to your name while Anais and I pull our weight, and your fat thorax’s weight!”

                That clicked with Nessie and she curled up about to start crying. “Vexus I just wanted to see you smile… why won’t you ever smile?” Vexus roared, “Because there is nothing to smile about!” She flew off to go get new parts as Nessie began to sniffle as she floated down to pick up the stuff. “Nothing to smile about, that’s… that’s just wrong.”

                Vexus came back hours later even angerier than when she left because everything she had requested was out of season. Nessie had been trying to piece together the things, but they ended up glued all over her. Vexus’ only saw red as she swarmed Nessie and began to sting the blue bug. She flung insults and curses as Nessie tried to flee but her wings glued together she was laying there. She yelled the one word that she knew would get her brothers to stop teasing her, “Mercy!” Vexus stopped suddenly as the venom in from her stinger began to make Nessie swell and the light blue bug gasping for air as Vexus flew off to get Wolfsea.

Hours Later-

                Vexus waited by Nessie’s cabinet in the Kitchen as Wolfsea gingerly carried the swollen blue bug back to rest on her pile of gags and jokes. Vexus was about to ask how she was when Wolfsea glowered at her. “You of all trolls know what your kind’s stingers do to others. Vexus I’m ashamed and you are to move your nest after this or I will remove your modifications and bring you to your old hive.” Vexus looked shocked, “You-you promised you’d…” Wolfsea interrupted, “You promised in exchange for those mods you’d use them instead of your stinger.”

                Nessie meanwhile listened as the two argued and felt bad, assuming it was her fault again. She hid under her snakes from the can of beans trick and softly sobbed. Vexus heard it and flew over to check out Nessie as Wolfsea walked away, the mist disappearing and it was Anais in reality. Vexus sat by Nessie and trying to apologize to the Yuk-Yuk but Nessie decided that now would be a good time to work on her weeping woozle impression now that she had Vexus’ undivided attention. Upon which Vexus growled. “Fine! You can stay in pain. I don’t care! You and the rest of this pathetic lot can tough it out without me! I don’t need a hive and I don’t need you!” In a tizzy she went to go gather her new valuables as Nessie stopped her weeping. She called for Vexus to come back.Vexus was having flashbacks as she began to detach her arm, the day she was removed as queen, and from the hive.

                “Sarafina and Nala are evil! It just so happens that Sarafina eats Banzai’s dad and she’s still a beloved character, paired with Scar?! She ate his friend’s father! Worse then she suddenly has Nala who is betrothed to Simba? Didn’t seem like she was royalty or she seduced Scar at best to get into the royal family because there’s no father around other than Mufasa or Scar! And why was she not worried about her daughter when the cubs ran off to the elephant graveyard and ooh look Nala’s not at the gorge with Simba!” Vexus’ voice rang through out her colony where they buzzed angrily that their elected queen was spouting this, going against the hive’s thoughts. In a swift movement the hive removed her from power but to correct her thinking they began to sting her, and making the biggest mistake. She flew off. Behind her, all she can hear is this huge swarm as nearly dozens of stingers go by her, however one slices her face down the right side and through her wing severing both the wing and arm. Another jab takes her eye sockets with its stinger, the sharp objected so heavily embedded that the Clone-Drone broke it off to get away as she crash landed before Anais. Anais wrapped them both up and masked them as another hoard of angry clone drones and the hive fled.

                Vexus by this point had detached the arm, and was working on the wing as Nessie came into the hive to look for Vexus but the many chambers confused her. Vexus goes back to her memories as her vision on the right side was fading and she kept blacking out from the pain. She remembered waking up with Anais staring her down and a bright light. “hold still little one.” Is what the shadowy figure said as it blocked the light. “Anais get some more meds… Lone-Drone, I’m afraid you’re losing a lot of fluid and your eyes … I can make a replacement I need your consent to operate.” The shadowy figure said as Vexus snarled. “Take it, remove it all of my past life…” She demanded before Anais returned with the medication. Vexus slipped out of consciousness again and the next time she work she could see, but it was a single image on her right side. She demanded a mirror as Anais brought her a tiny mirror. She ran her new eye and freaked as she looked at herself. No hive would accept her. She was a lone-drone for life but before she could truly freak out, a new figure arrived, a golden lioness anthro in a lab coat. “Name’s Roka, Wolfsea’s assistant and she ordered me to drop this off.” Roka pulled out a tiny helmet with an stub of an antenna on it with a large gem. “She says she never got your name but from your colors she’s named you Vexus. You’ve been fitted with a mechanical arm, wing and an eye this will cover the missing annetenna that you lost in the battle. Anais explained what happened so we have provided you with a place to stay in the kitchen. If you need more we’ll provide it.” Roka turned to leave as Vexus yelled for her to stop. “Why are you doing this and why do you assume I’ll even stay?” Roka grinned, “Cause you overgrown bee, Wolfsea did you a solid and this area is swarming with nightmares she’s created. You can try to leave, but you are unfamiliar with the place… and will more than likely run into project Cuddlewump.”

                Vexus stopped before she could remove the eye as Nessie appeared and hugged Vexus. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you.” Vexus held her and looked at the crying Firefly. She didn’t understand why she was tolerating this bug until the last flashback came to mind. Roka and Anais showing her around and declaring that this was her new hive, which she felt her wing change to show the number seven. “We’re family now… family always watches out for one another.” Roka stated as Vexus held Nessie telling her she forgave the bug.
