Hideous, the imprisoned efreet (genie).The story of Hideous isn't part of my OtherWorld series - he actually has one of his own.
A quick reference sheet of my old character I haven't drawn in forever.
I kinda want to change some things about him, but I'll think about that some other year if I ever start his comic.

Don't let the tears fool you. They were painted onto his mask
The mask and chains were a judgement from the Gods after Hideous committed some really nasty crimes.
When he was little he was exiled from his efreet father's kingdom because he was so dang ugly. So, he got revenge by coming back and murdering everyone he could in the kingdom. ...and the next kingdom over.
But, Hideous is just evil. Even if he hadn't been exiled things would've ended up the same way. He's just a bad, bad, bad seed.
Usually the gods would just kill their prisoners, but Hideous is so nasty, he likes pain! (eeewwwww...)
So they came up with the one fate he couldn't contend with. They forced him to be a genie locked away in a pocket watch to serve the descendants of the survivors of his attacks forever.
So now Hideous is always trying to trick his masters into releasing him. Harhar.

Always loved Hideous, keep trying to think of one single thing about the picture I like best but I like all of it. D: You draw clothes so delicious, I love creatures with three fingers, his mask is eerily expressive. c: There.
