My second contribution to 's Disney Villains Collab is another rarity; Dr. Hans Reinhardt and Maximillian from The Black Hole.The villains collab is still accepting sign-ups, so be sure to drop by and snag a villain!
It's a really weird movie. It got mixed reviews when it came out and it still does.
Even I'm on the fence about it. There are things in the movie I really like, and some things I really don't like.
But it is really fun to watch at any rate. It's got a cute little Roddy McDowall robot and some wonderful overacting by Max Schell. :3
I think you can pretty much expect me to just be doing the more obscure villains for my contributions. I dunno. It feels like a prize to me when people actually recognize the characters.

I still go with the theory that Reinhardt built the brain of Frank McCrae into Maximilian, because the Humanoids wouldn't obey him even after their conversion.
So that's Frank's soul passing on to Heaven while Hans is forced to spend eternity trapped in Maximilian (Tying into the Dante's Inferno line at the start of the film, since the story focused on cruelly ironic punishment)

you know, there are those "you wish someone would do an art project of it" situations, im glad your brain seems to be full of those, the miss Cunningham is remarkable, most of the things on my profile I made like the Caine from RoboCop 2, because when I was a kid, sure they made RoboCop toys all day, but there were never super toys like ones of today, there was no Caine... keep on keepin on, from Kentucky...

I have to say, "The Black Hole" would not have been so rememberable for me if Dr. Reinhardt and Maximilian were not the villains.

I liked the movie- kind of reminded me of a good episode of "Lost In Space."
The funeral scene was certainly eerie.

You have to admit, it's a rare movie in one respect - it is the only live-action Disney move to have a scene set in Hell.
