Description I have no idea why that giant brightly colored patch was painted on the side of that old barn but it of course caught my eye. Little long exposure fun.

Nice choice to use a longer exposure. It made the low clouds hugging the mountains have an extra zest to them. What's a good word? Zest isn't a good word. Hmm. More... extravigant? No... I can't even spell that right. There is something extra with that background thanks to the long exposure, and when I think of that word, I promise you I'll let you know!

kind of like the quilts made during the 1800's, messages of "safe" houses... maybe this is one of those "messages" only more modern day. things that make you go hmmmm.... nice find!

I hadnt thought of it that way. Makes the shot that much more intriguing to me! Thanks!

nicely captured, at first to me, the bright patch detracted from the overall shot, but on 2nd, 3rd and 4th look, this has grown on me and I really like it...especially the soft sky and clouds

I just thought it was an outlandish contrast with the fog and gray weather. Thank you Wendy!

Too cool.... what a great find! Maybe it's some sort of target... or something for the cows to look at?
Anyhoo - this is an awesome photo Dennis - really nice work!

Its a cow hypnotizer thingy. They stare at it and produce more milk! (Even though this wasnt a dairy farm.) Thanks my friend!

Judging from the path around the barn, they maybe still lurk around there though...?
Interesting concept.... I wonder if the same applies to humans and that's why my daughters were fat babies - I did look at a lot of funky art when they were infants....

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!! I see some genetics students thesis coming from this discussion in the future! "Can Studying Van Gogh Paintings By Pregnant Mothers Lead to Obesity During Infancy?" Yes the cows were IN the field with me.

What a BEAUTIFUL perspective, Dennis. You've gotten so damn good.
And who cares what that patch is - it gives a dynamic and vivid focal point. Wonderful.

Thank ya my friend! Gotten good? Nah....I just get really damn lucky sometimes. I love how the bright and vivid patch contrast against the dull, grayish landscape and sky. It was such a rainy cold day and that patch brightened it up for me.
