There is just so much that is awesome about this painting, I hardly know where to begin! I love the almost "Blind Justice" sort of vibe the lady in the painting has, yet she is definitely something on a whole different order entirely. So a closer glance at the image goes beyond one's initial expectations and impressions, and this image presents a subject that has almost a palpable darkness to her! The globe she is holding, and how it is "bleeding" is an interesting and quite striking image that adds to the darkness, which is hammered home by the lady having her eyes covered, thus showing us that the darkness is what she is used to perhaps, or what she knows. There is almost an angel, or even "fallen angel" vibe too, with the way the cloth about her is being blown in almost wing-like ways. All is up to the viewer's imagination and interpretation, and this painting delivers fuel for the imagination in splendid ways! All in all, a must-favorite for me.
