With the recent news that a woman was struck and killed by CP 2816, this reminds me of the time UP 844 struck a woman and killed her. It seems like nobody learns they’re lessons. Now granted this was in Mexico but it doesn’t matter, it’s still a death that could’ve easily been avoided. My heart goes out to the woman’s family who I’m guarantied were heavily affected by it. I also feel bad for the steam crew, in fact, I feel absolutely awful for the steam crew. They took someone’s life. I’m sure they were heavily affected by it. I saw the video of her getting hit and it truly hurts to watch. People really do need to stop getting so close to trains. Now I am guilty of doing that exact thing but I’ve learned from that and you all can to. Truly a tragic incident and I hope that the steam crew can cope with this. I know they never meant to kill anyone. This isn’t the only instance of someone getting too close. Just a few days prior a woman got super close, but thankfully moved just in time! Really hopeful people use this as a lesson to not do this! If you guys are thinking about getting super close just to take a selfie (which is what this woman was doing by the way), please don’t! It’ll only upset the crew and people watching and if you get hit, your either dead or have life altering injuries and it will scar people who witness it. Watching that video of her getting hit certainly scarred me a bit. So please guys, be careful, I don’t wanna catch a death on tape!
